The concept of “Core Competencies” of an organization refers to a source of competitive advantage that enables the firm to introduce an array of new products and services. The Core competencies concept arises from the integration of multiple technologies and the coordination of diverse production skills and it provides access to wide verity of markets, contribute significantly to end-product benefits (Core Competencies, par. 1-6). Core competencies are the knowledge, skills and attitudes the organization has deemed critical to long-term success, such as creative thinking and problem solving; leadership and visioning; and self-development (The Training Organization, p. 8). They tend to be rooted in the ability to integrate and coordinate various groups in the organization and they lead to the development of core products.Question No. 2: How can you link a training program to organizational goals? Since an organization can only meet its objectives or goals if it has a diversified workforce with diversified skills and knowledge, hence staff training programs are generally arranged to prepare and enable workers to adapt to new technologies, changing work environments and ever increasing customer demands.
