Their time machine was made for a particular jungle back in time, where the people could go back millions of years into the past. A similar concept is evident in “Nethergrave,” where some individuals fancy being sucked into the virtual world because they detest the real world. That happens because the person experienced an upsetting and solitary day. Although the historical setting appeared like the present time, there is no clear indication suggesting if it was true. The “Nethergrave” story reached its peak at the time Jeremy’s online contact left, yet he receives a text from somebody asking him to return to his mic.

Notably, that is perplexing because readers can only imagine who the person was and what he or she wanted. Later, he chooses to abandon the real world for someplace without boredom because the ignorance and bullying here were annoying. On the other hand, these stories confirm why technology can become dangerous. Despite the improvement in technology to improve human life today, its misuse can be disastrous.

Although these are creative stories and science fiction, the possibility of building such technologies in the future is a potential threat to humanity. Right now, I can only imagine what would happen if such technologies become a reality. Although both stories were captivating, there was some extraordinary attachment to “A Sound of Thunder” tale. Personally, the story is more attractive compared to the “Nethergrave.” It stands out because of the way it pronounces the characters, a comprehendible theme, better description, and how it familiarizes the audience with the setting.

From the line “There was a sound of thunder” in Bradbury’s story, the creator revokes emotions and fear in the reader’s mind because nobody is sure whether he killed Eckels. The suspense not only keeps the reader guessing but works perfectly to raise adrenaline and urge to read more about what happened. Overly, it was the more exciting story and the favorite among the two essays. However, both stories portray the message on the importance of making sound decisions even during hard times.
