The way of thinking and opinions of the aged people and the youths have a lot of differences than similarities now. The father in this story has made a request to his daughter to write a simple story just once more as he was approaching the end of life situation. The father thought that his daughter may write a story in the same format as those stories written by past male writers. On the other hand, the daughter has written a story which was not acceptable to the father. The father has suggested a lot of corrections in the story since he belongs to the past generation. Even though the daughter accepted most of the criticism hesitantly, some of the criticisms were unacceptable to the daughter since she was the representative of the modern generation. In short, "A conversation with my Father," develops with the help of some arguments between a father and his daughter about their opinions about the present and past American literature. Even though, the main theme of the story was the clash between the young and old, it also succeeded in portraying issues like drug addiction, single parenthood etc. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

My father(interpersonal communication)

...? of My father As Montgomery (2003) puts it, a father represents the most significant part of any human parenting style that is necessary for any healthy upbringing. My father is one of those people that I always follow whatever he tells me and I care so much about. Apart from being my teacher, I also consider him as a friend and above all an advisor. He always tells me that I should ensure that I assist people as much as I can and also ensure that I don’t make any one angry. One thing about my dad is the fact that he is not that much educated and he told me that this is because he got separated from his parents at an...

My single father

...My Single Father Life is just like a game in which one’s moves are very restricted. Everything one does cannot be pre-planned and some decisions or actions must be taken or made at random. Once something is lost, it is gone forever and there is no chance for it to come back later. Life gives very few chances or opportunities and it is up to a person whether he wants to avail them or just let them slip. There are very few people who are lucky enough to get a second chance. So, decisions and actions are depend upon oneself. And no one can be blamed for what one does as the action or decision was taken by a person himself. When I was nineteen, I came across one such situation. I always had strained...

Do Not Deport My Father

... Do not Deport My Father Introduction While the deportation of criminals from the U.S is right according to the law, deportation of people who are trying to make an honest living is not a focused strategy of keeping criminals out. It is not shocking to learn that the U.S government deports around 1,200 people on a daily basis. In the last four years, around 1.3 million people have been deported and this is a number that is inclusive of parents who have U.S citizen children (Human Rights Watch, Parker, and Root 2). Sadly, there only seems to be deportations of community members who are undocumented and others are those who have fake I.Ds. The fake I.Ds are in most cases used for purposes of getting work permits and other forms... with this...

Tradition from my father

...I was a youngster, I did not know that he was trying to teach me something. As I grew up, I understood some of his sayings. Now, I think I do not only understand him, but I also know him, and he might even know how I approve the way he is. When my family got together during the years he would say less from the past to me, but he still uses the very “educational tone” for my brother´s sake. Although he knows I am 26 years old, he still does not enter into a “real” conversation with me as a father and son. A year ago when he came to visit me in San Francisco, I tried to have a conversation with him, but the words that came out of his mouth were, “Never try...

To My Father

...To My Father I love and breathe freely in this country because of the struggle of people like my father. I am not biased nor in exaggeration in saying ‘father! It is you who gave me the freedom and protection. When you gave this country all you could, ready to lay down your life for it, the people here keep praying for you, I prayed for you and I pray for you every day.’ To the world, my dad is a war hero. He is sick right now but I know the world prays for him. I want him to get up from bed. My dad is a hero to me more than anybody.
