The official of the planet is “Desert Planet Arrakis.” 2) Spice is a drug whose many valuable characteristics include the introduction of a type of enhanced space-time perception in pilots of inter-planetary spacecraft (Herbert, Anderson and Herbert). 3) Chani is Pauls beloved Fremen concubine. She is also a dedicated, caring mother and companion. Chani is Pauls age mate who gives birth to his first child at the end of the book (Herbert, Anderson and Herbert). 4) Harrah is wife to Jamis. At the end of the book, she becomes Stilgar’s wife. 5) Stilgar is Fremen’s leader. Stilgar gives Paul the name Usul referring to "the strong base of a pillar" as his personal name within the multitude (Herbert, Anderson and Herbert). Part Two 9pts total 6) Paul inherited Harah after Paul murders her husband and her two children as his ghanima, "spoil of war", subsequently killing jamis, just after a convention with the Fremen tribe at the beginning of Muaddib.  7) Kanly was the play of an official vendetta or feud in a way that conformed to the Great Convention. It often caused a formal war of abrasion between two rivals, typically Great Houses. 8) A crysknife is a sacred and formal weapon of the Fremen, individually-adjusted blade ground from the rock crystal tooth of a sandworm. It is made of a double-edged curved knife. Religious beliefs stipulate that to the Fremen, a drawn crysknife must not be sheathed until it draws blood (Herbert, Anderson and Herbert). Part Three 25 pts total 9) Duke Leto is killed by The Harkonnens in a failed assassination of Harkonnen in Arrakis. 10) Leto was betrayed by his personal Suk Doctor, WellingtonYueh, during the attack and handed over to the Harkonnens.  Dr. Yueh betrays Duke Leto as a result of his devoted allegiance to his wife. 11) Maud’Dib refers to an Educator or one who teaches good behaviours. 12) Mentats are used in minor scope by the Bene Gesserit. It comprised of several layers that would absorb the bodys moisture through urination and sweating and then filter the toxins so that consumable water would flow to catch pockets (Herbert, Anderson and Herbert). Part Four 18 pts total 14) The archetypal character does not fight back because he does not have confidence that he knows he is the Kwisatz. Like many other heroes, especially in science fiction, the archetypal character is "the One," a messiah-type character whose advent people have been antedating and expecting to bring about huge transformation. Pauls great importance is established in the novel, as a significant character and as a symbol within the world of Dune. Paul is unique from the other characters in science fiction because of his unwavering conflict to his purpose and his distress concerning the results of power. Paul is predestined to amend the development of the world (Herbert, Anderson and Herbert). 15) The use of conflict is one of the traditions that you can break or make a book. A book needs some conflict to steer the characters and the narrative with them. In the case of Dune, Frank Herbert accomplishes this artistically through certifying that so much of the genuine struggle is internal, rather than external. Nevertheless, its how we perceive the conflict unfold in the prophetic practices of Paul Mauddab that open the tension the persistent skirmish he has against a genocide yet to come that he predicts and is anxious to stop. 16) The BeneGesserit Sisterhood were an olden group of women, all experts in numerous mental and biological manipulative and tricks methods, assimilated through practice, training, life and physical restraints and use of the Spice Melange. Their predominant objective was the "maturity of humanity".  The BeneGesserit anticipated creating an arousal of the human race. The Order yearned to advance the objectives of the Butlerian Jihad which had brought the human race from a new-born like reliance upon machines. Part Five 20pts 17) The stability to Imperial power in the play Dune is the gathering of noble houses called the Landsraad, which imposes the Great Convention’s prohibition on the use of atomics beside human targets. However, the power of the Corrinos is unmatched by any distinct House; they are in continuous rivalry with each other for political power and risk factor in the ever-present CHOAM company, a management post that regulates the wealth of the whole Empire. 18) Paul marries the Emperors eldest daughter, Princess Irulan in title only. However, Chani is still the mother of his children and close companion and take up control of the Territory. Part Six 23 pts 19) The witch sisterhood or class that Pauls mother came from are known as BeneGesserit. The expression in Arabic interprets "Sons of the Peninsula / Island ". The term "Bene" can signify descent from, or a town/village initially occupied by a clan/tribe. The Arabian neck of land is regularly known as "Al Jazirah." Nevertheless, another description is likely, that the starting point is Latin, and defines that "it will have been well borne", or "he/she will do well". Conceivably Herbert was playing with phrases and projected double meaning, even though I disregard it since the Bene Tleilaxu share the similar prefix "Bene", nevertheless appears to be enthused by South and Central American history(Herbert, Anderson and Herbert). Bonus 7pts 20) A successive sudden outbreak on the Atreides by Harkonnen troops reinforced by two crowds of Sardaukar in Harkonnen colours and made conceivable by a conspirator on the classified led in the annihilation of the Atreides forces, and the demise of Leto; an aggressive multitude with confidentially big figures and fighting skills surpassing the Sardaukar. The Fremen attest proficient of holding their own against the Sardaukar, and are even capable of conquest and incarcerate the "undefeatable" Emperors elite army (Herbert, Anderson and Herbert) Work Cited Herbert, Brian, Kevin J Anderson, and Frank Herbert. Dune.
