The Song of Roland is yet another interesting story to discuss. The song in French and translated into different languages including English. The song of Rolland comprises of into paragraphs of varying length referred to as laissez and exploits heroes like Charlemagne and Guillaume. A remarkable feature, which differentiates the song from others is that it ends with a mystery. A critical analysis of the two artistic works aims at bringing out the differences and similarities existing between Odysseys with the Song of Roland.

This research addresses the overview and relationship between the Odyssey and the Dante’s Inferno. The song compares characteristics of different actors. Roland’s closest friend, Olivier is wise, but he lacks great passion providing the greatest reward to Roland, who pursues beyond wisdom and expresses his heroic nature. Despite being separated by a number of years, there are remarkable similarities in the Odyssey and the Song of Rolland. Documentation odyssey utilized Greek similar to the Song of Rolland originally drafted in Greek and Italia.

In addition, the two are epic poems outlining the role of different fields of life. The most remarkable area is the Roland’s and Odyssey’s view of a journey as a maturation metaphor. The two artistic works utilizes varied styles such as journey metaphors, repetition, imagery, satire, and irony to attract the audience. In his article to explore Odyssey as means of maturation, Chen (2010) acknowledges that a journey is always full of tribulations and obstacles. In the Homer Odyssey, the entire epic is laid on the journey performed by Odysseus, the protagonist, and his son Telemacho.

Telemacho had to follow tribulation roads to establish the death of his father. He traveled to Sparta and Pylos to mature into adulthood and gain relevant experience for protecting
