September 13, Story Response Number 2 Hi , The structure and style used in writing was deemed effective in captivating the interest of the reader. As narrated in the first person viewpoint, the author used elements of rhetorical appeal, especially pathos, to appeal to the emotions. The main theme that was deduced from the story evolved from the fact that the narrator detested playing baseball but had to concede to suit the preference of his father’s love for the game. Most of the sentiments disclosed included adjectives that described suffering in silence, dreaded waking up to play baseball, and feeling like being a prisoner looking for an exit. The flow of narrative details had been predominantly smooth; yet, there are some areas requiring expounding. For instance, when the assertion that Mike could have been the instrumental person who could have changed his mind set about the game, no further details were provided. Personally, one would have wanted to find out the succeeding details on the manner of exit, as disclosed. In addition, the climax could be improved through the creation of a conflict or challenging event that provided the impetus for a turning point: the reason why suddenly, it would not matter whether Holmgren, the teammates, and even the narrator’s father would hate him for leaving baseball for good. Overall, the story was narrated in the most interesting manner that created the intended impact to the reader. Good job. Read More

Deaf reading reaction number 2

...DEAF READING REACTION NUMBER 2 The main topic in this article is the inclusion and en ment of all children to an appropriate free public education without minding whether a child has any disabilities. This can only be possible in the least restrictive environment. This has been achieved through the introduction of IDEA, a concept that seeks to ensure that all children become educated. Prior to this, most children were denied education, or if they received one then it was quite inadequate and inappropriate (Cerney 15). This article tries to widen the scope of this educational provision by inculcating the needs of the deaf children. Ideas such as this stand out to me and are in line with my beliefs no bias...

Story Response #7

... Response to Beep Hello Minji Hwang, The clarity and focus of the story are exceptional. Everything described within the context is sensible and ought to be included. The reader does not lose focus because of the pragmatic organization and flow of ideas. In addition, readers do not have to reread the passage to understand the events described. There is a decent course of events, for instance, from the time Julie enters the thrift shop until she leaves. Furthermore, Julie leaves having accomplished the main idea in the passage; buying a dress from her favorite thrift shop. Clarity of ideas and even flow in the passage stick with the core idea and plot without deviating to too many tangents. Organization of ideas for a slight part... of the...

STORY Response..2

...Story Response Hi, Andrew- The story is captivating and has a nice slow development that creates suspense thereby provoking curiosity to want to read more. The story starts a far distance and finally brings the reader home having painted a clear mental picture of the geography of the place and the time at which the story takes place. For example at the beginning where a crisp desert breeze laces with the last warmth of dusk passing over Jed’s face as the sun slips over the horizon shows it in a desert and it is in the evening. The level of detail in describing the characters is commendable since it gave a sense of the character’s personality. For...

If the hypothesis is confirmed, it can help understand the role that indirect aggression plays in impression management for women.
