To Leroy, he acknowledged that “the real inner workings of a marriage, like most of history, have escaped him” (Mason 1).
To Norma Jean, she realized she does not appreciate with Leroy’s staying at home.
Leroy realized that there are so many things he still does not know about Norma Jean.

The sudden declaration of Norma Jean that she is leaving Leroy seemed synonymous to a confrontation in a battleground. To Leroy, he acknowledged that “the real inner workings of a marriage, like most of history, have escaped him” (Mason 1). To Norma Jean, the visit to this historical place made her realize that there are still a lot of things that she does not appreciate with Leroy’s staying at home.
