He was the creator as well as the victim of his destiny and he challenged both and lived through them to emerge victorious finally. Malcolm X was in the scene of the racial struggle in America, in one of the crucial periods of the history. He writes “The ‘Jim Crow’ code that had formalized complete racial separation was overthrown during this time.
It was defeated in bitter struggles that transformed all of America’s institutions, North and South.”(3)Many philosophers argue that our destinies are determined by forces that are beyond our control. These deterministic forces are often called "fate." Philosophers argue and counter argue to know the true nature of fate and the role played by it in the life of a human being. In the known human history, no conclusion acceptable to all has been arrived at so far. Amidst these arguments truth is left far behind.
The votaries of arguments stick to one part of the truth and argue that it is the whole truth. As such the followers of such schools of thought are unable to reach the true destination. Malcolm initiated a protest movement against all such schools of thought and evolved his own working philosophy to achieve success in life. Majority of the people in his era, especially the blacks, believed that the happiness and sorrow of a human being is controlled by destiny. What a person is going to get, and that which one is not going to get are preordained.
As such to act on (to be industrious or do one’s duty) is futile. A section of the people articulated that action is important. According to the merit of actions, an individual is the beneficiary of happiness-sorrow and heaven-hell. The entire cosmos is run on the basis of karma. But there is also a section of people who believe that karma is the cause of human bondage. But those who believe in non-action
