Extract of sample "Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka"

Father became bankrupt, and Gregor had to work as a travelling agent. This family became dependent on him. Gregor is responsible and kind-hearted, but he suddenly appears in great trouble – he turned into an ugly insect. His body changed greatly, but he remained kind and good-natured in contrast to other members of his family. They try to be sorry for Gregor, who was the only bread-maker in his family, but at the same time, they hate him, because his trouble made them look for a job and try to get some money. Also, they had to take care of him and were very glad when he died (Kafka).
“Metamorphosis” can be called a dark comedy, because everything that happens in the novel can make the reader laugh, but at the same time, it is really awful.
Unfortunately, the author is quite right and Gregor Samsa is a perfect example of one of the people, who suffer from the rules of society. Read More
