On the other hand, during the time, there was the era of an ‘eye for an eye to getting things even. It was painful for those who had been wronged especially those that had lost their loved ones. The punishment was meant to provide justice to the aggrieved persons. The people at the time felt that was the best way of getting justice. However, the laws of the jungle are not good in society because it fuels violence among the people of the society (Lansing, 2000). It creates hatred among the aggressed and the aggressors. It is important to limit such punishments in society. Murder might be accidental as opposed to being intentional, and if an individual is murdered because of perceived intentional murder, then that would be tantamount to injustice. Contrapasso punishments are not good for the administration of justice (Lansing, 2000).
