This is the primary feature discussion shown in his book Student Activities Manual to accompany Mathematics for Elementary Teachers: A Contemporary Approach. This book is already the seventh edition of a series of mathematical presentation suggested created by the same writer. Unlike other books that has been under the said series, this edition intends to show how the collaboration of the different systems of teaching actually makes mathematical presentations more enjoyable and refreshing rather than stressing as noted by many young learners.

Hence, as released, it has been well expected by the author that the manner by which the teachers would use this book as a manual would help them find the right approach to mathematical instruction that best fits the learning style and capabilities of the elementary classes that they are assisting. As observed from the table of contents posted above, it could be noted that there are all in all sixteen major chapters that makes up this reading. The said chapters are subdivided to show how the particular procedures to teaching could actually be utilized to inculcate math in the process.

As the curriculum being pertained to in the manual is set for young elementary learners, the set up of the activities are designed not only to teach but also to entertain in an aim of helping the young ones retain their interest in the subject matter as they are well presented with the lessons along the way. Considerably, the situations of the class presentations are carried on by the author into careful attention that is designed to address the individuality of each child in class. Through research and experimentations, the author of the text has actually tested the said activities over time and has proven that these suggested approaches to teaching mathematics certainly works with almost every kind of child. He, for so many times, even mentioned that the continuous development of these procedures on the part of the teacher would actually help in increasing the capability of the students to realize the practicality of mathematics in their lives.

Important Points to ConsiderOne of the most important matters to consider about Musser's text is his ability of being able to reconnect his activities with the actual mind set of the children sent to school by their parents to learn. In his reading, he acknowledges the fact that every child is motivated to go to school in different manners.
