College Introduction If you are reading this then I know it is at least 100 years from the time that this capsule was written. It is 5/20/2012 today and I have taken some time to tell you how life is here at this time of the year. It is the beginning of the XXI century and there are a lot of technological advancements that we can see around. We use phones to communicate and we still breathe in fresh air without having to purify it. The main culture that is characterized by this generation is education. Children are taken to schools as early as 3 years of age and from there they have to go everyday to school till 16 years before they start looking for jobs. Jobs are hard to come by and that is why most people do a lot just to get any job. However, there are lots of other people who are self employed and grow crops as well as start businesses to help them survive. To survive in this society you must have money. We either purchase things using hard cash or by use of soft cash that can be in the form of credit cards. Computers are being introduced everywhere in our societies. Computers are used in banks and also in facilitating our communication every day. My main hopes in life are to finish school and get a well paying job, marry and have children so that I can start my own family since the family is the fundamental unit of development for almost 98% of the world population. My main dreams for the future are to have a world that is controlled by supercomputers that communicate with people as if humans. I dream to see hospitals that are controlled by robots and to see economically stable nations. I also expect that by the time you read this there would be no more cold wars among nations such as the US, Russia and China and that by the time you read this the rate of crime shall be reduced due to the advancement in technology that allows the police to detect and arrest criminals. I also expect corruption to be a gone thing unlike in the present world where most of the countries’ developments do not happen due to lack of proper management of funds and the misuse of government funds to do personal projects. Morality and decision making In the current world, people are judged by the way that they can stay long without having sex. Sex is a very controversial issue. Most parents want their children to make decisions that will keep them away from sex until they get married or find the right person to have sex with. A person who has sex with anyone is always looked upon as being loose and cheap and does not have a lot of respect in the societies. Despite all this, prostitution is rampant and most people are found with prostitution though in most places it is always done at night (McCall, 2002). Happiness A happy person is an individual who has a fine job that is well-paid and is respected by most people. The person also has a nice and supportive family who he/she can easily provide for without struggling. The person has cars that he can use to move around and also has time to spend holidays going to expensive hotels where he can spend money and have a good time with the family members. Respect from members is also a very vital thing. This person has to be respected by various members of the society and he/she should be able to have some few hours at night to sleep and to have some time with his family members so that they can discuss various things that affected them during the day (Gilbert, 2006). Book I would like to include the book homestretch into this capsule. Based in Jamaica, the book describes the life of a young girl all the way from London to Jamaica. All her life transformation is described as she moves across these two places. Her culture, interests and all the things that make her happy are included here (Pollard, 1994). I found this novel interesting to include into this capsule since it has a lot of our current culture that can be conserved. If someone reads this book then it is possible to get information of how we live our lives today. Unlike other books, the book is mainly based on different ways that life changes from one city to another. Architectural site I would also like to include Camp Nour as one of the architectural sites of that can be used to describe the kind of architecture that existed in the XXI century. With the ability to contain more than 90000 fans Camp Nour is state of the art and is one of the greatest architectural achievements of the XXI century. It is one of the best facilities that the XXI century is proud to have produced. I included Camp Nour because of its great architecture. This can greatly reflect the way people used to build structures in the XXI century. Unlike other structures, this site is large and it is considered one of the greatest architectural structures of the XXI century. Song I would like to include the song Rehab by Rihanna. This song was done in 2009 by song writer and musician Rihanna. The song has its own video and describes the way that most youths and adults are into drugs. The song is also a reflection of how hard it is to live in the XXI century. Life is hard to live and drugs and sex are some of the challenges that are faced in this century. I included this song in this capsule because it can be used to explain different challenges that youths and other members of the society undergo in this society. Unlike other songs, the song is mainly based on the life of the common youth and the different challenges that they undergo. Films Grownups is the movie that I chose for this capsule. Acted in 2010 by Chris Rock and others, this film describes how life changes over a short period of time. It is about lives of some young children and their children 32 years later. This film is very useful in explaining the way that life is in the XXI century (Noble, 2004). I included this film in this capsule because it has all the life changes that people experience. The film also describes how people change and how the different challenges occur. The film also has what is considered to be advanced technology in our society and that is why I included it over other films. Gadget Finally, I want to include a compact disc. In the current world, CDs are mainly used to store computer data which can be read in DVD players as well as computers. The CD is everywhere and a lot of people are using it to store music, videos and to store pictures as well. Music and movies are sold using CDs and it is really useful in making money in the current world. I included this garget in this capsule since I assume that by the time that you read this capsule, there would be various ways of storing computer data and that the CD would be a gone thing. However, it is good to remember that the CD was a very important gadget for storing computer data and that it really made lots of companies and people rich and wealthy. References Gilbert, D. T.
