The movie is a drama that narrates the story of a couple struggling to live ordinary lives after losing their baby. The 4 years son was knocked by a car and died immediately, leaving parents in an abysmal state of mind, and suffering psychologically. Even after one year of the adverse occurrence, Becca, mother of the child, felt anger and bitterness. She tries all ways to confiscate the memoirs of the child in her mind by avoiding things that will remind her of her son (Hudson). Conversely, Howie involves in things such as watching family videos and drawings that reminds her of her demised child.
The difference amid the two couples is further affected by closeness they have to each other. Becca’s mother and sister make existence difficult for her because of their irresponsibility. For this reason, she finds herself associating with a high school learner, Jason who was anticipating being a comic book artist. During the funeral, friends and relatives promise the couple that they will do whatever they can in assisting the parents overcome challenges. It is unfortunate that they did not execute their promise, since they all disappeared after the funeral was over.
Becca’s condition becomes worse when she loses temper to strangers who came on her way (Hudson). Critique of Rabbit Hole The film has received inestimable appraisals from the audiences and analyst of films. The movie brings a steady impression by creating lightness in the course of the film. There are countless questions that Becca and Howie had to answer and make decisions. Were they to clear their four year old son’s room or preserve it? Was it helpful to visit a therapist to counsel and them from the tragedy they faced?
Opinion of the movie and, why you think this movie affect you I feel that Becca could have displayed the storm of emotions to people instead of letting it hurt her emotionally. This is the best remedy for a person suffering an emotional eruption to let go trauma and experience easiness. Rabbit Hole edifies the society on how a person can move on when facing tragedies through the lifestyle of Howie (Hudson). I think the movie uses the characters to reveal the negative impacts of losing a beloved person.
James uses humor in the film shrewdly to relieve and touch the audience at certain events in the movie. The significance of humor is to relax viewers’ nerves by making them laugh; hence forget the trauma developed in the plot. For example, the situations when Nat tells a funny story about Becca that make all characters laugh. Rabbit Hole is exceptionally tasteful, and I wish that it was initially a coffee-table book because of its creativity and good flow of events, making it remarkably understandable.
Rabbit hole progressively builds emotional peak, hence, making the performance of the characters to be rich and multi-dimensioned (Hudson). I think this movie affects me because I might face a similar situation in the future, and it also depicts themes such as love, longing, culpability, recrimination, sarcasm and patience that I witness in my community. It warns me on the dangers of hiding emotions since it might erupt, and cause a person to involve in negative decisions like committing suicide or making regrettable choices in life.
James gives her a sense of humor and generosity as characteristics that make her loved by the audiences. When
