The poem is an open form because the words are placed as the poet tries to form a certain form of picture for the readers to understand. The words are written in a style that they do not fit the rhyme of the poem. The speaker of this poem is the child; this is because he explains what is happening in their family. The pronoun ‘I’ has been used to identify the speaker who is the child because the other characters are described by the nouns ‘mother’ and ‘father’ (Oliver). Most of the events are revolving around the child because he is doing most of the talking and this makes him the speaker.

The child is narrating the unfolding events in the poem. It is a difficult occasion because the child and the mother are having a difficult time paying their mortgage. This is evident as they deliberate on selling their black walnut tree, which is a special tree for them. They doing this to avoid embarrassing situations of been kicked out of the mortgage. The speaker is telling the readers on their situation so that they can be justified on how they are selling the walnut tree (Barnet, Berman & Burto Pg 32).

This is because the tree is special and their father planted it. The reader experiences the imagery of light when the speaker says walnut tree will see another of sun and experience the blowing winds. This imagery makes the reader experience the brightness of the day as the sunrises. . They do not have any other form of income that can help them cover their mortgage bills and they ought to sell their special tree that was planted by their father. Little Bee The author uses the setting in Little Bee in an attempt to express the on the different perspectives within the two represented environments both in Nigeria and London.

The settings presented in the novel to depict clearly the meaning of the novel that the author needed to spread. In Nigeria, the setting represents the various problems that happen within the region as a representation of most elements of Africa. Little Bee within the Nigerian context represents the asylum seekers from this area. The people in this circumstance are represented as threatened with hunger, conflicts and warfare the bring problems to other people who have little to obtain from the wars and conflicts (Cleave 1).

The people face other problems, which are presented through the Nigerian situation of the story such as disease and genocides. The context also brings about the inexperience of the Little Bee about the existing subjects concerning the wider world. The context in little bee also brings the argument for additional considerate mind-sets and interactions with general population seeking refuge. On the other hand, the London context seems cool with little conflicts and wars as well as other problems experienced by people within the Nigerian context.
