It is hence a long-term shift in the climate of any region. There are various ways of calculating this change by keeping a check on variables like wind pressure, temperature, and precipitation (Agarwal, 2008). There are various reasons accountable for climate change. Sometimes, climate change occurs due to the change in the sunlight reflected by the earth’s surface. At other times, climate change can also result from the fluctuation in amount of heat energy that transpires from the earth surface to the outer space.
These factors not only facilitate in the fluctuation of the average weather condition but also on the fluctuation of changes on both sides of the average itself. Now, how do these changes occur? They can result from volcanic eruptions or increasing intensity of sunlight or other rather tardy changes in the ocean-land equilibrium that might take place over a long stretch of time. However, one important reason for climate change comes from global warming and release of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which depletes the ozone layer and in turn disturbs the weather equilibrium.
Many countries across the globe have realized the gravity of the issue at hand and taken measures to diminish global warming. This paper will attempt to evaluate and analyze three of these measures against global warming and examine their functionality. . However, automobiles have become an ingrained part of lives around the globe, so much so that an existence without them seems impossible. Although, completely discouraging automobiles is rather foolish, countries have promoted the use of energy-efficient cars that give great mileage in a very small amount of gas.
By using small amount of gas for great distances, these hybrid cars emit less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and thus contribute a great deal towards reducing global warming. Many countries including Japan, Korea, and US are now trying to promote the concept of energy-efficient automobile (Marquina, 2008). The question arises, is it helpful? The answer will be a definite yes primarily because as mentioned earlier, automobile is one of the most successful industries of today. Most families above the poverty line have at least one car to themselves and if such a wide range of population is customers, any policy in the industry can have a snowball effect on the world climate.
Thus, energy efficient cars are the most successful ay to reduce global warming. b) Moderate Use of Electrical Appliances: Another strategy, many countries have adopted in the recent years is awareness regarding harmful use of electrical appliances in households. The excessive and aggressive use of electrical appliances release heavy amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, which is harmful for the climactic equilibrium of the earth as well as to the health of thousands of people of that region (Marquina, 2008).
To address this issue, many countries have taken it upon themselves to promote awareness of this hazard amongst people through active involvement of the
