In its most basic form, a good citizen complies with all the roles while fulfilling their role as a good citizen. Theodore Roosevelt defines good citizens as individuals who can pull their weight around. A good education is a prerequisite to becoming a good citizen on most occasions. An educated citizen knows how to break down the myths and false promises of people in power. Since the memorial of man, they are wired to live by the laws dictated by society. However, following the rules and doctrines does not make human beings good citizens.
The first step in becoming a good national is becoming a pleasing person in general. What makes a pleasant person? It exhibits stellar traits, principles, values, and ethics. When you find the balance between these traits, there is much needed to make a complete person in general. Another essential trait that makes a whole person is the willingness to help people.
By looking in our society, proper citizenship is people willing to lend a helping hand. Our main objective is to bring out these good aspects into the general well-being of a proper nation. When we talk about citizenship, it is not necessarily for pregnant women or poor ones. It is not about helping an aged person cross a busy street and feel good about themselves. However, it is the little actions we pick up that make the difference. Many attributes of good citizens should be shared with others. Sharing is an essential attribute in a community setup. How much do you share in your community? Citizenship includes doing little things, such as taking part in the community. Citizenship is about taking part as a volunteer to help in bettering your community.

Furthermore, it also involves making a clean environment and conserving resources in the background. Take part in reducing the rate of pollution and keeping yourself also clean. Citizenship is also meant to make your voice heard in the community. It also touches on people making decisions on behalf of your community, such as voting. It also reflects on your civil duty, such as paying taxes and reporting any wrongdoings.
The second essential trait in becoming a good national is respecting the law and authority. Breeding this trait starts from home by obeying your parents and teachers. It grows to obey your coaches and elders in society. It becomes to observe the laws and honor the principles that makeup democracy. The trait culminates in building respect for your nation and its symbol. The rules in society are simple to follow them. Many famous people have carved a name for themselves by following the rules that help structure the community. It only calls for heeding these rules set by the community. Some notable names who have become famous by abiding by the laws in a better society include Ndidi Okonkwo and Chief Anthony Enahoro. Chief Ndidi Okonkwo is a renowned figure in Nigeria for playing a significant role in securing the state's independence. He hails as the first pro-democracy activist. He holds the record for moving the first motion for self-rule back in 1953 from Britain.
