Training methods Executive summary The two selected training methods are fingerprints interactive and blood interactive. The fingerprint interactive is a video training which examines fingerprint aspects in a crime scene. The targeted audience for the fingerprints interactive will be security employees such as detectives, FBI officers, SWAT experts, and CIA personnel. The blood interactive training uses a video to inspect blood features. The video reflects the aspects of blood in crime or accident scenes. The primary audience of the blood interactive will be special security officers such as forensic scientists. The two recommended alternatives for the fingerprint interactive and blood interactive are audiovisual techniques and on-job-training approaches respectively. Part I: Fingerprints Interactive The Fingerprints Interactive video is centering on diverse features which can be adopted for perceiving crime. The primary audience of this training video will be security employees such as detectives, FBI officers, SWAT experts, and CIA personnel. Such individuals are engaged in resolving crime scenarios that is why they are the best-suited audience of this video. By using the fingerprints interactive video, any security firm will be in a position to identify dissimilar aspects of crime which have happened in a scene. A visual nonverbal learner would best acquire skills from the fingerprints interactive training since it is based on a video and description from the speaker. A visual nonverbal learner acquires information efficiently when charts, videos, and diagrams are used in a training and at work. Visual nonverbal learner learners perform best in a silent atmosphere and might require the chance to comprehend the charts and the diagrams individually. They work efficiently on their own and an online occupation might be the best job for them (Boise, 2007). A trainer should be available to react to a question or a comment from these learners, but he or she should be allowed to work independently most of the time. A security officer is best suited for the fingerprint interactive video training. The fingerprint interactive video is significant training since it will assist in examining the finger evidence in a crime scene. Usually, the fingerprint is taken from tools which are touched or left behind by criminals. The ability to detect the possible items which criminals may have touched in the crime scene is a very important skill. Thus, this training is worth $ 150 per seat. Audiovisual techniques can be alternatives to the fingerprint interactive training approach since they also make use of videos, slides, and overheads. Audiovisual techniques are examples of traditional training methods. I am certain that experts who adopt audiovisual techniques would conduct the fingerprint interactive training appropriately. The only concept required is to have demonstrations in form of videos or graphs. Part II: Blood Interactive The blood interactive training employs a video to examine blood aspects. The video deliberates about the characteristics of blood. According to the blood interactive training, the four components of blood comprise of platelets, white blood cells, red blood cells, and plasma. Also, the training provides skills of taking blood samples from the crime or accident scene. The skills provided would enable experts to examine blood information and sample. The target audience for the blood interactive video will be a group of special security officers such as forensic scientists who mandated in handling the unique situation in a scene of crime or accident. Handling of blood needs special skills thus appropriate for forensic scientists. This training technique will be appropriate for tactile and kinesthetic learners. A tactile and kinesthetic learner acquires information efficiently by doing. The work setting and training are very crucial to tactile and kinesthetic learners. These types of learners require the ability to respect their administrators and feel safe and respected. So as to enhance the productivity of such learners, an administrator should create a calm working setting and acquire their respect. In addition, they might show better performance of work in an atmosphere where they have a chance to move around as they think or perform their duties. These employees regain energy to work and think more critically while allowed to move around while in the course of working. During training, they normally fidget while learning or listening. Thus, as a trainer, I will take into considerations such aspects of tactile and kinesthetic learners. The blood interactive is similar to the fingerprint interactive training in almost all aspects. First, both use videos to convey information. Second, both training approaches target security officers audience. Third, the best alternative to the blood interactive training is audiovisual techniques just like the fingerprint interactive video. However, On-the-job training (OJT) can be a good alternative for the blood interactive training approach. Part III: Use of alternative methods For professional training approaches and in scenarios dealing with crime, I would prefer to adopt some of the two alternatives I have proposed in part I and II. These are On-the-job training (OJT) and audiovisual techniques training approaches. In this part of the paper, a description of OJT and audiovisual techniques of training, as well as their effectiveness, will be presented. On-the-job training (OJT) On-the-job training is an approach where incompetent or new workers learn the work environment by observing administrators or peers perform their work and strive to emulate their behavior (Noe, 2013). OJT approach is categorized as a hands-on technique of training employees. This implies that this method needs the trainees to be vigorously engaged in learning. By actively involving the trainees, they become more confident when they are left to conduct the tasks on their own. The hands-on training approaches will enhance their confidence in being capable of performing the work efficiently (Noe, 2013). OJT technique will allow the new workers in an organization to do the work efficiently and equip them with the skills to handle complex clients as well as the with to solve complicated assignments. According to chapter 7 readings, OJT is regarded as an informal technique due to the point that it does not essentially occur as a fragment of a training platform. Also, OJT is considered an informal method since the mentors, peers, and administrators are the trainers. Thus, OJT is a less costly method of training employees as compared to other techniques which require outsourcing trainers. Mathematically, for 25 trainees, the cost will be zero if the trainers are within the firm that is 25 trainees * $ 0 = 0. In the firm, OJT will be useful in training newly employed staffs, upgrading the abilities of competent workers in scenarios where new technology is initiated, orienting promoted or transferred personnel to their new roles as well as in cross-training employees within a division in the organization. Audiovisual techniques Audiovisual techniques will be essential in training security officers since it involves the use of videos, slides, and overheads. However, videos are the most common aspects of audiovisual techniques. According to chapter 7 readings, the video is a reputable instructional approach since it has been adopted in interviewing competence and client-service abilities, enhancing communications capabilities and for demonstrating how the process should be followed. Further, the video is a major constituent of behavior modeling and logically, collaborative video training. By use of audiovisual approaches, the trainers can evaluate, slow down or speed up a training session this giving them the flexibility to customize the lesson based on the trainees' proficiency. Conclusion and recommendations In this paper, fingerprint and blood interactives are the training methods which have been selected and evaluated. The main target audience of these two training approaches is security experts. They both adopt videos to convey information. The alternative methods which have been given for fingerprint and blood interactives are audiovisual techniques and on-job-training respectively. They are the best options to train security officers. Based on the analysis, I recommend both on-job-training and audiovisual techniques to be adopted in the organization as a training method for both newly hired and existing employees since they are less costly and effective.
