Bailment is also another form of liability that occurs when an individual leaves his/her items under the care of another one. For instance, checking bags or parking one’s car with a valet can be considered a bailment. The hotel becomes fully liable for the value of the goods as they are in the custody of the hotel (Jefferies, 55).

Safekeeping is an easy, secure and cost-effective means of storing and managing one’s valuable records, documents and other media forms. Safekeeping provides customers with the best facilities and available systems based on rigorous international standards (Jefferies, 55).

The American Bank’s N.A. (BANA) Safekeeping Department provides a wide range of securities and custody clearing services. The customers do not handle daily security management details as the bank provides protection and enhances the safekeeping of account deposits. The bank acts as a custodian as approved by various governmental and state agencies. Its services enable one to save money, time and space. Such services include control of assets centrally, book-entry custody of securities with approved custodians, disbursals of interests on a payable date, called bonds processing and monitoring matured securities, pledging and releases of securities pledged, using depositories and book-entry in delivery of securities (Jefferies, 71).

The regional Federal Reserve Bank holds the U.S. government and government agency book-entry securities. Other securities that may be physical are kept safely at New York Mellon Bank and the DTC. The operations facilitate book-entry-based collection and clearing (Jefferies, 205).

Fraud is the act of obtaining for oneself or a third party an unlawful benefit. The act destroys or damages the property of another person by maintaining or causing an error by suppressing facts or using falsehoods. Trespass is an old set of wrongs that deal with the intentional and direct invasion of the complainant’s properties. A hotel can raise a complaint against a person if the accused accessed their premise without permission or received a notice to leave the premises but failed. However, before any hotel accuses a person of trespass, they must prove the accused knew he was forbidden to access the premises, but he intentionally ignored it. The hotels should put up notices that direct members of the public on their movements (Jefferies, 355).

A person can be accused person of fraud if the following facts are proved beyond a reasonable doubt. The accused communicated false information to the hotel intentionally to defraud the hotel. In addition, the hotel should be defrauded of something. Defrauding a hotel includes unlawful receiving of foodstuffs, accommodation or failing to pay for services offered using a fake cheque. Such a person is charged in a court of law and if found guilty, he or she will be sentenced as per the constitution of the country (Jefferies, 400).
