It is an issue that occurs in all society levels no matter if they are poor or rich and for some countries, corruption have reached a level that it delays the country development which is affecting them negatively and slowing them from contributing to the developments that are helping the world. Corruption can be defined as the manipulation or even the perversion of the system in a bid to benefit a single party as compared to the benefit of the public or even the intended beneficiaries. Corruption can be sadi to be extremely complicated and that may explain the reason as to why it is very hard to pin it down. For those in countries who cannot access health, food or even water without paying bribes, it can be argued that corruption for them is a daily problem. In fact, in economic circles it is a well known fact that corruption often arrests economic development and it often remains entrnehced because in many cases the rich and corrupt elite often have a strong self interest when it comes to the retaining of power. In many countries, corruption often hits the poorest hardest. This is because the poor often have to pay bribes for the services that they can be said to be entitled to by the government. This often includes services such as access to medical care, justice and even education. Corruption can be said to undermine the rule of law and principle of fair competition and in many cases often entrenches bad governance into the system. This in effect hinders the efforts that are needed to alleviate poverty and eventually contributes to instability as well as numerous human rights abuses. Further, the reinforcement of the poor governance in aid recipient countries have undermined the essence of aid and has denied a lot of people the opportunity to benefit from aid money. Corruption can be an outer corruption, inner corruption and there are solutions that the society and the country need to do to lower those types of corruption. Outer corruption occurs in public, and in many cases in this type of corruption the public cannot do anything because of the immense power that the people being involved in corruption yield. The level of corruption decreases with the wealth of a country this is because most of the people in the country can be bribed because they need the money for their lives and to feed their families. However, corruption can be a cause of inequality like how the law was designed. (Shah, 2011). Outer corruption occurs mainly in the public sector and it hampers the efficiency of public services, and can be said to undermine the confidence that exists in the pubic institutions. Further, it also increases the cost of public transactions. The corruption takes toll on the country, this is because corruption often gives unfair advantage to the people that break the law. This often includes public official, their friends, relatives and sometimes the people that are willing to pay bribes in order to gain public contracts as well as other government functions. However, it is imperative to understand that there are many victims: there are those that are shaken down for the bribes as well as kickbacks and there are those that are the members of the general public. These are people who pay for corruption through the incidence of inflated costs, as well as loss of faith in the government of the land (Mike). In the 21st century and with the tightening of budgets throughout different parts of the government as well as business, there is a need to ensure that there is rigorous as well as vigorous enforcement. In fact, the residents of different countries have over the years suffered many consequences as a result of generations of corrupt state as well as local officials. Corruption at times can be described as dangerous, for example, there are times where public officials issues licenses to drivers in exchange for bribes, this creates a lot of danger in the roads. In fact, in the state of Illinois in the United States, an outer public corruption occurred where truck drivers were licensed after giving bribes. This led to one of the most horrific accidents where six children in a family van died when it was ran over by a truck driven by a bribe paying driver. There are also financial consequences when it comes to corruption. Million of taxpayers dollars are often paid put on contracts as well as other government benefits in order to steer public officials in order for the insiders to benefit. Corruption often changes the face of the community, over and over, for several decades, countries have given away public benefits such as city owned land, zoning rights. This is because the real estate developers often have the pockets as well as campaign purses of the people in the public. It can be argued that undoubtedly, the most harmful consequence that an endemic such as public corruption often has on a community is the apathy that if often engenders. In fact, over many years of people seeing corruption in almost every face of the government, many residents often start to accept corruption as an immutable status quo. They also in many cases often come to assume that the government is broken, ineffective and it is destined to function corruptly (Shah, 2011). This accepteance of these consequences often leads to a culture of acceptance in a community of many. Some residents in many cases often disengage from different political process and they no longer trust their government to function or respond to their interest. There are other residents that often come to believe that they must engage in corruption in order to gain favor from governmental officials as well as for them to benefit themselves. Still there are others in the society that start to look away when they witness corrupt transcations. Therefore, in outer corruption, the culture of acceptance often makes it very difficult for one to detect, investigate or even prosecute corruption. Inner corruption is also related to outer corruption and it often comes back to the community to haunt it. However, inner corruption is not public and it is often covered by people it occur in covert deals in the capitals and senior offices. Inner corruption mostly occurs in politics before the elections and it is used in the manipulation of elections. In some cases when the authorities are unable to act toward the corruption national agencies are often sent in with a bid to solve the issue. (Maharaj, 2013) Political corruption can be described as the improper use of legislated powers by administration officials for illegimate gain. This misuse of power is often used for reasons such as subjugation of political opponents as well as general police brutality. The forms of inner corruption often vary, however, bribery, exortionism, nepotism and embezzlement as part of them. In politics, corruption can be said to undermine democracy as well as good governance by flouting when suberveting formal processes. Bribery in elections as well as in the legislature often reduces accountability and can be said to distort representation when it comes to policy making. When corruption comes to the judiciary, it frequently comprises the decree of law, and dishonesty in public administration results into what can be described as the incompetent provision of services. It also violates the basic principle of the centrality of the civic virtue. It is corruption that erodes the institutional capacity of the government if events are disregarded, possessions are siphoned off and the public offices are often bought and sold. When it comes to the private sector, corruption often increases the cost of business through the price of illegitimate expenses through themselves and the associated cost of negotiating with officials as well as the risk of breaking agreements or even their detection. Corruption in many cases generates financial deformations in the public sector and often diverts public investment into capital projects where kickbacks and bribes are more plentiful (Mike). Officials in many cases many want to increase the industrial complexity of the public sector in a bid to conceal or even pave the way for dealings that are fishy and corrupt. This further distorts investments. Corruption can also be said to lower fulfillment with building, ecological as well as other regulations. In fact, it can be said to reduce the excellence of administration services as well as infrastructure and it also increases budgetary pressures on the government. Corruption is a worldwide issue that people suffer from and with every problem there should be a solution. The solution for corruption can be by educating people of how dangerous it is and how it affects the community in the long term. Increase employment for those people that are able to work, but unable to find jobs. Employment creation is one of the pillars of stopping or reducing corruption. The government should be able to create jobs for the masses, and those countries that often lack technological development should be able to invite other companies to help them. With these companies established in these countries, job opportunities can be created for the masses. This will eventually lead to the creation of jobs for the citizens of the country, the skills acquisition programs should also be held in the communities of the country. This will automatically help the people to acquire skills that will help them live their lives better (Maharaj, 2013). Proper planning by the government to monitor the departments that have high risks of being corrupted will help make sure that people are doing their proper job without risking any unauthorized behavior that might cause some danger to the community with a strict rules and punishments for those who do not obey them. This can be done through the use of electronic monitors, which has the ability to access to all the activities that go on in companies and government offices. The installation of these devices is important as it will help fetch out those that engage in illegal activities. Lastly, there is a need to introduce agencies that will fight corruption. The duty of these bodies should be to fight corruption in the country as well as put things in the right order. It should be able to settle corruption issues. However, one problem that has come with anti-corruption bodies is the fact that they are often weak and therefore, lose the war when it comes to anti-corruption body. (Mike) There are often many acts of corruption and in order to lower their dangers to the society, there is a need for agencies that are monitoring and acting to decrease corruption. Further, the public should also increase their awareness and report acts of corruption to the nearest authority. This will undoubtedly help when it comes to decreasing corruption.
