Deregulation of Corporate Crime/ Redirected Not Eliminated an Annotated Bibliography Any proposition can be thought of in many different ways. Corporate crime is completely unfair no matter which way it is looked at. Sometimes it is the ones needing help performing the crime, and other times it is those providing the help committing the crime. Living in a world where ones that are supposed to be trusted cannot be trusted, it is important to evaluate the situation, focus on what’s right, and decide what can be done to correct the problem. In order to do this, it is necessary to conduct the proper research and decide what exactly the problem is. In terms of welfare fraud, the government is not eliminating the fraud that is happening. As long as these problems continue to go ignored, the problem will be constantly redirected and the focus put toward another issue. Doing this has negative results. Negative results have their effects on the whole population and not just those receiving the government assistance. It is important that more is done to fight the issue regarding fraud. This brings many questions like, is the poor really poor, or are they abusing a system that can be easily abused? Many questions can be asked regarding the situation, through research, I plan to explore why state and federal government continue to let these fraud issues take place. When exploring why there are certain issues, it is important to back up the issues with as many facts as possible. Blomley, Nick. 2008. “Enclosure, common right, and the property of the poor.” Social and Legal Studies, 17, 311-331 The article written by Nicholas Blomley is about property, mainly property of the poor. The article questions whether or not the poor deserve to have the property or is gentrification no longer an issue and property is available for anyone. The article also focuses on common right. The poor deserves common right regardless of welfare status. The main arguments in the article focus on standing up for what is just. The poor have common right just like everyone else. Common rights are a part of the law, just because someone is not wealthy does not mean that they don’t deserve the right of common law. I think the following arguments from this article will help me develop my essay by understanding the less fortunate’s point of view. There are always two sides to an argument and participating in the welfare system does not mean that one has to lose their rights. I think the following arguments from this article will help me develop my essay by looking through facts and statistics associated with welfare fraud. A main focus is people becoming “poverty criminal”. Poverty criminals are those using the welfare system in a wrong manner and breaking the law.
