Location of the Crime Scene and Type of Crime Overview A crime scene was being investigated by a number of investigators. The investigation was carried out in order to indentify the cause of the crime. The crime scene was located at ERAU parking lot F and a body was found dead together with bullets. Investigators arrived at the scene of crime to carry out investigation. They collected a number of evidence and recorded the observation they made in the scene. After collection and carrying the evidence, further testing took place in order to identify the perpetrators. Series of events took place at different time at the crime scene. The investigators arrived at the scene and commenced the process of investigation as required. There was division of roles and each investigator carried out his or her role. Specialists also were given the special task like blood testing and fingerprinting in order to identify the perpetrators. Location of the Crime Scene and Type of Crime The crime took place on March 26, 2015 and investigation process took place up to 10:55 am of March 26, 2015. The crime scene was located in a Parking Lot F at ERAU. The investigators were informed in order to visit the scene. The crime was committed and the perpetrator could not be found. At the time when the investigators arrived in the scene the suspect had escaped. The crime involved a murder which was suspected to have been caused by shooting. In order to identify the person who committed the act, the investigator collected evidence from the scene and recorded the events which took place. At the time when the investigators were carrying out the investigation, weather condition was sunny and temperature was 550c. The light condition was also good for the investigators to carry out investigation effectively. The light condition was favorable for photograph taking and the investigators could take clear photos without difficulties (Dutelle 78). Series of Events A number of events took place at the scene of crime. The investigation was taking place in March 26, 2015 starting from 90:33 am. The investigators arrived at the scene at 09:33, 09:34 am and the Coroner arrived at 10:02 am. Coroner left the scene before the investigator at 10:37 am. The investigators left the scene at 10:55 am. Different materials were collected from the scene in different times. The investigators noted that 4 bullets scattered near the drive side at 09:30 am. Investigator Alex noted red pill at 10:03 am and it was collected to help in investigation. Sierra identified ticket at 10:10 am male blood from the victim at 10:33. The blood was collected for testing in order to identify if it was real blood and the owner. The investigators had surrounded the perimeter of the crime scene to make sure the available evidence was not tempered with or destroyed. After the completion of evidence collection, they called off the investigation at 10:55 am. The investigators went with the collected evidenced for storage purposes (Dutelle 45). Investigators The investigation team comprised of 15 members. Each investigator had a role to play in the scene. They performed different roles in order to come up with effective evidence which can lead to identification and arrest of the perpetrator. The team leaders were Alex and Ray and they coordinated the operation in the investigation. They gave direction and made sure that the collection of investigation was effective and each investigator player his or her role as required. Ray and Alex were also given the mandate of carrying out search at the scene. Saeed Alkaabi was contacting the search tasks. Saeed was searching the materials found in the crime. Kylin Andreotti also performed the search role and helped in identification of evidence. Kylin was also given the mandate of keeping the evidence collected. Kylin acted as a custodian and evidence searcher at the crime scene. Katie Beach performed search only. Brenna Quinn, Jennifer kinder and Zachary Dowling were given the responsibility of measurement and sketching. They were responsible for securing the scene by surrounding the perimeter to ensure that no person could enter or came near the scene. They carried out other measurement to identify the degree in which the crime was committed. Carrying out investigation at crime scene involving murder is risk and there must be enough security. The perpetrator can attack the investigators in order to destroy the evidence. There is a need for security while carrying out murder case investigation at the crime scene. The investigation team took security measures and gave Ryan O’Hara the responsibility of security and search. Ryan was providing security while carrying out search. Ryan made sure that the area was safe and nobody could attack them or interfere with evidence. Sierra Wilferd was also given the mandate of searching evidence. The role of evidence collection was given to Salina Soto. Dustin Batterberry was recording video in order to have recorded evidence. James Gulliksen was responsible for search together with other investigators. The photographer was Eric Ratcliffe. Eric took photos of the things which were available at the scene. Extra jobs were allocated in order to carry out the identification process of the evidence collected. There was a need for forensic investigation. Blood testing and fingerprinting was necessary and the investigator allocated five people to carry out those tasks. Blood testing was to be carried out by Jennifer, Brenna and Salina and fingerprinting was to be carried out by Katie and Kylin (Dutelle 23). The investigation needed more attention and as a result each task was allocated to more than two people. The task of photographing and recording was given to Eric and Dustin. Measurement and sketching was undertaken by Jennifer, Zachary and Brenna. Evidence collection was carried out by Lewis and Salina. Searching was more critical and as a result more investigator were to carry out the task. Searching was carried out by James, Sierra, Katie, Kylin, Saeed, Ray and Alexandra. That group of 15 investigators was able to collect relevant information from the scene before 10:55 am. Evidence and observations Different materials were collected from the scene. The investigators also noted many things while carrying out the investigation process at the scene. The investigators carrying out the search were more careful and they noted many things and identified many physical evidences. Four bullets scattered were identifies near the drive side by Ray. A bloody rope was also identified by Katie at the passenger side floor. At 10:03 am Alex identified yellow pill and a roach near the male’s body head. A bullet case was indentified by Katie near car’s right front tire and a chewed gum near the male’s body. A brown race of shoes was found at 10:01 am. Ray then noted a black 8 legged spider moving to the male’s body. Other things found at the scene include lip balm, ear plug, ticket, money, bloody knife, roach and a used wet whip. Dustin was able to observe blood drops at 10:40 am. Lastly, dusting was done to collect fingerprints. The fingerprints were found at the passage window and collected by Katie and Kylin. The handle of the driver door also had prints and were identified by Katie and Kylin.
