Characters of Conrad Black Trial Conrad Black Conrad Moffat Black was born in Canada and is recognized for being a publisher of a newspaper along with a historian as well as columnist and was held responsible in later ages for conducting felony (MacAskill 1). He lead and he was the head of the world’s third largest group of newspaper publishing company. He was in control of Hollinger International which was involved in the publishing of well known newspapers including National Post, The Daily Telegraph and others.

He even worked as a writer and had authored memoirs and biographies and was prosecuted that was initiated by his company’s shareholders and was later sentenced for a period of over six years for conducting fraudulent and justice obstruction. Jack Boultbee Jack Boultbee held the position of CFO (Chief Financial Officer) with the newspaper publish company named Hollinger and was trustworthy companion of Conrad Black and remained with him for over a period of 20 years. He even owned 0.68% of the shares of the Hollinger organization and was one of the convicted members of the Conrad Black trial which was started by the shareholders of the company.

He was asked to leave the company but he never accepted to leave his position and later he was fired during the period of 2003. In the Conrad Trial, his lawyers never accepted the charges that were levied against him. Peter Atkinson Peter Atkinson is recognized for being a general counsel with the newspaper publishing company named Hollinger and had the responsibility of keeping a check on the legal affairs of the organization. He was born and brought up in a small town in the region of North Toronto and started his career as a worker with a factory along with a grocery store and later he financed himself to complete his law education.

He became a part of the Hollinger organization during 1996 after providing legal services at a Canada based law organization for over a period of twenty years. In the Conrad trial he was held responsible for assisting his bosses of Hollinger in committing fraud. Mark Kipnis Mark Kipnis is recognized for being an in-house lawyer of the Hollinger firm and had the responsibility of signing documents that were detailed in nature and he even signed several of the deals that ended up being controversial and litigated.

He was not held responsible for sharing the profits that the organization earned through their illegal activity but was held responsible for accepting a bonus of $150,000 to keep his mouth shut for the illegal activities (CBC News 1). He is a married man and has four children to his name. His lawyers accepted that he has acted in a negligent manner and his association with the fraud was a mistake. David Radler David Radler was even born in Canada and was a close companion of Conrad Black and had been associated with him for over 36 years and was the co-owner of Ravelston.

He obtained his Master’s Degree from Queen’s University during the period of 1967 and even operated as the COO (Chief Operating Officer) with the Hollinger International (Clark 1). He was held responsible along with his associate Conrad Black for sale of newspaper companies that were under the control of Hollinger international and was held responsible for conducting mail and wire fraudulent cases.
