This paper highlights that the AllGov website is one such website that highlights the work of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) in crime prevention in the country. According to the AllGov website, the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is an agency that promotes the adoption of preventive approach to crime, rather than reactive approach. In addition, Wallechinsky reports that COPS not only promotes better ways of tackling crime in the community, but also finances and provides training programs to people in community on how to tackle crime in society.

Regarding where the money goes, COPS reveals that society is one of the potential beneficiaries of the law enforcement programs initiated through funding it provides. In this regard, Wallechinsky reports that not only does the crime preventive measures initiated by the COPS reduce crime, but also increases the quality of life and improves economic and social welfare in society. Indeed, this is one of the most effective websites in terms of design. The website is so appealing based on the color schemes used.

For instance, the navigation section of the website is colored black while the rest of the website remains white. The navigation section of the website is divided according to information contained therein. For example, there is the section for news, government, department, blogs, and nations, and donation. It is also very clear that the website has accomplished its intention to a great extent. This is so given that it contains valuable information and presents this information in a very coherent and readable format.

For instance, the website has coherently highlighted the role of COPS in crime prevention. According to the website, dealing with crime requires the adoption of a preventive approach, as opposed to a reactive approach, as is common among the government, state and local security agencies in the country. From this discussion it is clear that the website is also detailed with information regarding the COPS’ mission in crime prevention. In addition, the website coherently discusses how COPS fulfills its mandate.

For instance, according to the AllGov website, COPS fulfills its mandate by operating locally to prevent crime through provision of training materials to law enforcement agencies with interest in community-based programs. Some of the programs that COPS have funded, that may be of interest to visitors of the website include the Salt Lake City’s Methamphetamine Initiative, which aimed at combating the occurrence of Methamphetamine labs and increased consumption of meth in Salt Lake City. Additionally, COPS have also funded the School Campus police officers.

The initiative, according to Wallechinsky, was aimed at helping in tackling school-based violence, such as the 1999 shooting incidence in Columbine High School in Colorado. According to AllGov, COPS have funded these officers to the tune of $763 million between 1998 and 2006. The other good thing about the website is that it is up-to-date and conforms to reality. The information contained in it has been recently written or updated and is fully factual. In addition, the information on the website is well researched and professionally written without grammatical, lexical, spelling, or formatting errors.
