Extract of sample "The History of Esther Randolph"

She worked at the Red Cross until 1966 when she joined the state department for nursing recruitment. Under this role, she set up the Community Nursing Services to help poor patients with home nursing. Mrs Randolph served as the director of the Community Nursing Services from 1966 to 1970 and later became a community health programs supervisor for the state until she retired in 1980. Due to her exemplary service and passion for assisting poor people, she got several awards including the American Association of Nurses’ leadership award.

Additionally, she was an approved member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the American Association of Nurses, and the American Civil Liberties Union. She was married to the late Lionel in 1944 with whom they had two sons, Lionel Randolph Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa and Jack Randolph of Bennington, Vt. She has left behind no grandchildren. On Friday at 10:00 a.m., there will be a service at All Saints Episcopal Church on 12th St. Thereafter; she will be buried at the All Saints Cemetery on the same street.

Her family requests mourners to take flowers to the National Health Council instead of her funeral and grave. Her spirit of compassion and wholeheartedness lives with us forever.
