This is why a child raised by parents who show violent behaviors frequently, are unsocial and carry out emotional and/or physical abuse are more likely to be violent when they become adults. Poverty is another cause as it leads towards stress and this ultimately leads to a life of violence and crime. Lack of positive activity can also lead to violent behavior. As they say, “An empty mind is a devil’s workshop”. When unemployed and having nothing to do, individuals tend to go towards destructive activities to take out their frustration, violence being one of those destructive activities.

Drug abuse is also one of the factors leading to violence in the US as it renders an individual partially insane for a period of time. During that time the individual commits acts of violence and other undesired acts which he/she would not indulge in if in sober state. In the above discussion various determinants are discussed while are causes of violent behaviors; parental influence being an example of environmental determinant, poverty that of economic determinant, unemployment being an example of economic as well as social determinant, and drug abuse being as example of individual determinant.

It is interesting to note how these determinants influence one another. Individual determinant, for instance drug abuse, can lead to economic determinants such as poverty. . Here, I have to embarrassingly admit that I was unaware of many of the factors leading to environmental pollution listed in the assessment form. I use car whenever I wish to go out. This use of car can be reduced to a very high degree. Fossils fuels burnt in the car produce carbon dioxide which is a pollutant gas. Gases released in refrigeration and air conditionings are green gases which hinder the release of heat from the earth, thus leading to global warming.

Another area of major concern highlighted by my filled self assessment form indicates that I have no particular interest for recycling products. Not carrying a water bottle or coffee mug and using disposable items for this purpose shows that I prefer an easy life rather than worrying about the future. This attitude is alarming for a responsible and educated individual of the society. After reviewing the assessment results, I have devised an action plan for myself to follow. It emphasizes on three main issues.

Firstly, minimum use of car is to be ensured. Rather than going to the nearby gym in my car, I will prefer to walk from today. It will put my share in preserving a healthy environment by reducing the amount of exhaust gases escaping into the environment. Though my share in a global perspective could be insignificant, but it will show my intent to preserving the environment. Likewise, I’ll walk, ride a bicycle or use a public transport whenever possible. Secondly, I will ensure not to waste the natural resources, which may be in abundance in our country but same might not be the case in other parts of the world.

I will inspect for water leakages in my washroom and kitchen and keep the tap closed while brushing my teeth etc. There are countries in
