Looking at the beginning of the story, establishing characters and the setting could be a vulnerable area that causes a story to be poorly structured. This is because of the fact that every character introduced has their specific roles in setting the direction of the whole story. It is important to keep in mind that mapping out your protagonists and at the same time antagonists is key to be able to propagate the mental and emotional journey of your story without causing any disconnect or confusion to your readers (Strathy, G.). This is more crucial for stories that attack their readers through mystery and mind games especially because the alternate character revelation from the heroes to the villains which creates a riddle readers are so drawn to could either be just be an influx of names or a chain that ties it up altogether.

The middle part of the story which is known to hold the conflict or the mini crisis has always been an unflattering area when it comes to maintaining correct structure for a story. This is because of the fact that kicking off a believable and engaging conflict comprises of a trigger, a quest, a surprise, and finally the climax (Hale, A.). After the characters are well rooted in the minds of readers, a Trigger which is something that sparks the tone to the coming crisis such as perhaps an unexpected letter is a bridge that allows readers to cross towards the arising conflict.

But before that, the Quest where the spark becomes a little fire should follow. This is all about the journey of a character’s confirmation of an imminent danger or problem. It then builds up through the Surprise, a stage where a character now knows about the troubles he or she needs to react to. The reaction to this, whether the kiss of the prince will wake the princess or the kiss of the princess will make the frog into a prince is now the climax that eventually will pave the way for the conflict to be solved.

Indeed, bringing your readers deeper to your story is best narrated through a series of events instead of dropping your main conflict in an unfashionable timing, one that lacks proper building up that will make every reader predict what is going to happen next or perhaps just get bored of a an unrelated revelation. Most incorrectly structured stories would jump from one element mentioned above or muddle them up in a different order. Storytellers usually get the end or the ‘Denouement” right when it comes to structuring how the conflicts are resolved.

This is a part of the story where the story is finished through a narration of the destiny of each character. However, one way of structuring an end incorrectly would be the lack of the faintest idea of the outcome for the story’s characters. With all these said, here is an example of a story that is structured incorrectly or poorly written: “Topkapi Palace. The palace acts as a sort of museum now, housing many artifacts from the splendor of the Ottoman Empire. The artistry present in the designs and handiwork of the jewelry and the thrones is simply unbelievable.

It is the most delicate, carefully constructed art I have ever seen, and it takes my breath away. Yagmur and I stared with wonder at ivory hand mirrors with miniscule Arabic script carved into every inch. Absolutely stunning. But, believe it
