Nevertheless, the Russian law that bans adoptions by the United States families, according to Russia’s semiofficial news agency Ria Novosti, will take effect starting next year. The Russain’s did this because if adopted Russian children who died at the hands of their American parents, either from neglect or abuse. The United States State Department explained that a termination clause in the consensus extends one year from the end of the agreement. “As you know, we have been pursuing the idea of having discussions with the Russians about the carrying out of the decree. As things stand, the number of international adoptions by U.S. families has been declining for years. United States adoptions from Russian in particular declined from a high of almost 6, 000 kids in 2004 to little less than 1,000 in 2011. Although the figure has been falling in current years, Russia remains the country with the highest number of U.S. adoptions, after Ethiopia and China. However, as adoptions from some conventional sources have diminished, those from less-conventional sources have roared. Adoptions of Ethiopian children were almost unheard of till the mid-2000s, when, all of a sudden, the figure started to soar. In 2010, there were about 2, 500 Ethiopian children adopted by U.S. families. The U.S. citizens need to support more domestic adoptions through agencies such as the Sweet Home Orphanage. The children said on CBS that they were enjoying school, and becoming acclimatized to the life in the States, where they currently saw snow for the first time. Jason stated the language limitation had been interesting, but the children’s English was remarkable and developing drastically. Virtual Family Program interviewed the Jason’s and it was convinced beyond doubt that this family would the best custody for these children. The family is relocating to a bigger home in a few weeks’ times to better house their new family. Jason said in spite of the cost, he has nothing to regret the family’s decision for a minute. “This was God’s calling, and there is no way I was going to turn it don’t,” he said on CBS.
