Description of Company XCompany X is a steel company whose headquarters are in New York. Started in the year 2002, the company has emerged to be one of the leading multinational corporations in the world today. The steel produced by this company is used in construction, automotive, making of household appliances as well as packaging. Over the years this company has continued to operate extensive networks of distribution and to hold huge raw materials supply. Company X’s major market interests include Asia, Australia, and Europe.

This major focus on the creation of markets in these regions is a way of creating exposure to the major steel markets both the matured as well as the maturing ones. The production of crude steel for the year 2008 was valued at 85 tonnes and revenue of 95.2 US dollars. Other than its headquarters in New York, company X has other plants in different regions that include Atlanta, Washington, Phoenix, Texas, and California.The company is one of the steel industries that use electric furnaces rather than blast furnaces in the melting of scrap steel as a way of reducing production costs and increasing profitability.

Examples of the various steel products being released into the local and international markets include beams, bars, steel joists, steel decks, steel fasteners, wire mesh, wire, joist girders, cold steel, expanded metal, and plates among others. it has a decentralized type of management philosophy constituting five levels of management that include the president, vice president, general manager within the division, department manager, and the supervisor. Operation decisions are made at a lower level.

Other strategies that the company uses to enhance production, improve profitability, and beat its competitors include enhancing satisfactory customer quality and service, provision of benefits to employees, compensation on the basis of the performance of every employee, the adoption of new technologies.Systems Providers and Consultants (SPC) was founded in the year 1990 and works towards providing consultation services to all its customers in the various regions that include New York, Washington, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles, California.

Since the establishment of this firm, it has worked for various organizations and independent consultants. The firm’s associates, as well as principals, have commendable experiences not just in consulting but also in management.
