Artificial Intelligence Artificial Intelligence Introduction Artificial intelligence refers to computer systems that enable machinesto perform duties that necessitate human intelligence. The term also includes the ability of a computer to respond in a human behavior way. The described human actions include functions that include visual perception, the speech recognition abilities, and decision-making skills. Additionally, other advanced machines also perform duties such as language translation. The modern society consists of sophisticated machines developed from the artificial technology. In lieu of this, various arguments arise with concerned viewpoints on the advanced technology. The discussion on achievements by the artificial technology is necessary. A further consideration is on the discussion of limitations to such technology. Achievements of Artificial Intelligence Artificial intelligence (AI) generates controversial domains that question computer science since the onset of 1950s. The field has numerous scientists with various goals underlying the functionality of such marvels. AI research projects are motives by scientists of varied viewpoints and interests. Other venture into such fields with particular reasons later unveiled in the final products built. AI is a significant scientific field that dominates in the field of modern technology and innovation. The sector develops marvels of varied natures with significant impact on the world economy. Such change includes the application of artificial intelligence to generate machines of high technology (Forsyth, & Ponce, 2003). The major areas of application in AI include game playing. A particular form is the game of chess built on the human intelligence with an ability to focus on different angles ate the same time. Speech recognition is another field that AI dominates largely. Machines that use the speech recognition technology include the computer installed in aircrafts. Some airline companies use the technology to key master cities and numbers in the advanced devices. A standardized computer is still a reference case study with the ability to understanding the natural language. The devices master text, allow input modes and understand typed words through a set of commands. The advancing computer technology also allows for the use of single dimensions data. Progressing computer technologies also facilitate two and three-dimensional input of data. Other significant application includes the expert systems that perform sophisticated duties based on the human intelligence. The expert systems perform structured tasks to deliver desired results. An MYCIN is expert systems that have capabilities to diagnose a human body given specific instructions (Himanshu, 2014). Additionally, the AI technology allows applications that very user details through heuristic information. These applications generate various machines significant to the world economy. Examples of Artificial Intelligence Machines Robots are a modification of the artificial intelligence applications. The machines execute duties based on the human knowledge. These structured machines have abilities like lifting objects using hand like structures. Other developed models posses ability to memorize voice or master communication skills reflected by behavior. Such devices contribute in various sectors of the working environment. Journalism is such an example where the machines may dominate in news coverage. The transportation industry is also a significant area of discussion that uses the technology widely. Example machines include driverless cars, artificially controlled planes with autopilot modes and trains. The emergency service sector may also adopt artificial response teams. Firefighting equipment may use metal machines with silicone fabricates in response to tragedies. Hazardous situations may also demand such technology to avoid human causalities. The entertainment industry may also adopt the technology in recording deceased music stars through voice mastering (Korb & Nicholson, 2003). The list is endless with an immediate incorporation of AI in the customer service industries. Automated machines attend to clients in busy industries to ease operations. The onset of the contemporary society has seen great developments in the artificial technology. The development of autonomous vehicles signifies the achievement of AI where a DARPA drove for about 2849 miles. IBM researchers also developed a deep blue computer based chess that claimed victory over the world champion called Gary Kasparov. The mathematical proving machines at Argonne Laboratory held an extended conjecture on algebra. The unique device proved the use of human incorporated intelligence. Space exploration has also registered significant achievements. The accomplishments include scientific classification when an NASA based system-classified signals in the galaxy (Himanshu, 2014). The system managed such ability through adopting examples classified by a human being. Another artificial intelligence application is the advanced user program that allows passengers to make reservations through online systems and personalized computers. Limitations of Artificial Intelligence Artificial intelligence designs products that attempt to match the human thinking in the context of the human brain. Several challenges that arise from such technology are that the machines lack the ability to sustain the complex nature of the rain created. The emerging effect of a failure to handle such weight is inaccuracy and ineffective functioning. In lieu of this, machines may malfunction by breaking down or manipulating allocated data (Nilsson, 2010). Creation of machines with the super ability may develop complications since the machines are incapable of Self-operating without initial commands. Artificial intelligence has additional limitations in the sense that computers lack the ability to indulge in critical thinking in demanding circumstances. Nature laws are significant for the existence of any form of organism or matter. As such, the entropy law challenges artificial intelligence. The law necessitates stabilization of any given system for approval of proper functionality. The human brain has abilities to complicate matters when the end objective is significant. Additionally, the human mind will complicate matters in circumstances of unknown goals. The artificial technology cannot operate, in the same way, human intelligence works. The structures of AI rely on informatics resources to develop responses with directed results. A failure to envision the end objective may trigger other unwanted decisions that would manipulate the systems. The matrix behind artificial intelligence revolves around two primary structures (Neapolitan & Jiang, 2013). The first structure is the zero and one component, and the second part are true with the false element. The two structures work as combined units to instruct commands into the machines. Artificial intelligence has a limitation when compared to the human thinking and body capability. The human mind is set in a way that summarizes body functions, working procedures to about eight consciousness’s. In lieu of this, the human mind structure operates based on the eight consciousness’s. The super language concept of artificial intelligence is formulated by such elements of the human intelligence (Nilsson, 2010). Additionally, the human knowledge simulates computers with developed tendency under programming languages to express the artificial language. This approach justifies that artificial intelligence only processes the partial information. The realization of such distinctions is evidence of limitations to artificial intelligence. AI lacks the technicality to synthesize directly or replicate the biological process that sensitizes consciousness of the brain as human intelligence. Personal Opinion Artificial intelligence dominates the modern world and promises to progress technology to the higher level. The positive impact of artificial intelligence is evident through the various application presented in different industries. Some advancements in artificial intelligence prove worthy for human use. Arguably, the limitations of artificial intelligence are sufficient justify that a human being should not rely on AI. The reasoning behind such approaches originates from the incapability by the artificial intelligence applications to adopt the human intelligence effectively. In lieu of this, artificial intelligence applications require longer periods of testing and observation before approval in commercial industries and home appliances. Failures to imply such measures would result in catastrophic incidents that would otherwise render the technology ineffective or hazardous. The contributions of AI have a significant impact on the world economy that records significant progress with every development.
