Google Technologies of Google Technologies Space Elevator Technology by Google Space elevator is a future project of Google. In the project, Google is trying to introduce a technology through that the user could get in touch with the space. Google is trying its best to incorporate new inventions to complete its project. The work is being done in the laboratory of the Google known as “Google X”. The information is somehow revealed by the staff of the laboratory with the confirmation of their working on the project. Elevator could move from the surface of the earth to the surface of space. They have planned to work on the project on seriously basis but did not work on the implications of the planning and strategies. They are using aircraft to reach the space. They are working on the minimization of cost to go to space. The concept will be helpful in future especially for space tourism. They have to face challenges for the design of the elevator. For example, they need strong cables that would be much harder than the available steel. They also find the solution for that they will use carbon Nanotubes in order to make the cables stronger. The challenge is that the entire structure should be ultra large and proper working (Pelt, 2009). There is a question that will they succeed in their mission because they have plenty of difficulties while working on the project. Due to the working and planning of new technology it reveals that they would be successful. One of the ideas that they have rejected was a jet pack because of the fuel efficiency and loud noise. By the help of new technology they have invented an innovation named as “Google Glass” (Pelt, 2009). The benefits that could be derived from this technology is that would be helpful in making research. The researchers have to face more difficulties when they go to the space. The elevator will help them to make an effective research. Another benefit is the minimization of cost because the high cost affects the people to move on to the space. The elevator will be less costly in comparison with the present technologies. New discoveries could be done through this technology because Google X staff is always busy in finding the new things that will facilitate the world. Although the technology has benefits, but there is a perception that if the technology will not be successful in driving suitable benefits it will result in waste of resources as well as efficiency of all the people working on it. History is the proof that the Google does not fail the work on technology. They always try to introduce the technologies that are beneficial to the society. The performance shown in this unusual technology is representing the intention that they are working efficiently on it to make it easier for the people to take good advantage of this technology. Their strategy is to introduce the technology that would be affordable, reachable and applicable to all persons living in the society (Pelt, 2009). Driver-less Cars Washington, D.C. along with four states of U.S. has passed the legislation to allow driverless cars. Google came up with the idea of self-driving car that is powered by their software called Google Chauffeur. The technology provided by Google is expensive, but it is worth trying as it will ease the human life. Google have spent around $ 150,000 on the driverless cars as these cars include special equipment called LIDAR system that is worth $ 70,000. LIDAR is a sensing technology that can measure the distance from a laser beam. In addition to the LIDAR system, the driverless cars are also equipped with range finder positioned above Velodyne 64 beam laser. A detailed 3D map can be generated through the laser technology, and it is connected with high resolutions maps all over the world. When the maps are connected, an automatic data model is made which allows the car to drive automatically (Roebuck, 2011). The driverless cars have speed limits on the map and drives accordingly. The cars software is developed to keep a safe distance from other cars, and the car can be easily turned into a human driven car. A person needs to either step on the brakes or turn the wheel to convert it from being automatically driven to the human-driven car. These are the facilities that these driverless cars provide to its customers and allow them to cruise with ease (Roebuck, 2011). Google has accepted that the car is not fully developed as the car has some limitation on which the Google team is working efficiently. The shortcomings of the driverless car are that it cannot differentiate in between the objects like trash and debris because of which the car wears unnecessarily. Similarly, the car cannot differentiate between potholes and human. In addition to it, the car is not well equipped to stop when the police signal it to stop. The driverless cars are not fully equipped as these cars have yet to prove the snow and the rain test. The car drives at the given speed even if it is raining which can be dangerous for the passengers in the car as well others on the streets. Another drawback that these cars face is that they cannot navigate parking spots in the parking lots. It can have a negative impact on its buyers as they would like to have a car, which should be able to park itself. The officials at Google are working on the shortcoming and claims that the driverless cars will be improved by overcoming these problems by the year 2020 (Roebuck, 2011). Google does not aim to enter the automobile industry as it is only interested in making driverless car software. Google Inc. has plans to market its software and provide the automobile manufacturers with the data so that the automobile manufacturers can provide its customers with an option of the driverless car. People can enjoy many benefits from this software as it will ease their work, and the owners of such car can take pleasure of a chauffeur driven car (Roebuck, 2011). Robots Technology by Google Google is working on this technology too. Companies use to purchase advance robots that will help in making the work efficient and with low cost. Google is engaged in making the robots that will be used for defense purposes as the army. New inventions and innovation are made by Google to enhance this technology to the position for which they have designed. Japanese also make robots, but Google is engaged in making the robots that could provide enough benefits to the entire world. The army of robots designed is the key concept that would show the priority of working on this technology. Google is engaged in acquiring the Boston Dynamic robots that represents that the Google wants a robot that should be like moon shot despite of the thing that is used to operate different functions related to daily life or business (Davis & Iwanow, 2009). Google has other types of robots known as Schaft, Meka, and Redwood Robotics. Google has acquired these companies in order to make the company stronger to get work through robots. Google is always engaged in the robot technology. They do work in order to facilitate its users. The projects of the company reflect the idea that the company wants to specialize its robot technology and enhance the world to know some more works to be done by the robots. Google has an Army of robots who are acquired by the company for the purpose of adopting the technology and make new inventions of the robots. The company just to make the technology more reliable is doing the working. One of the drawbacks of this technology faced by the company was that the company introduced the robotic cars that will provide help in several manners. The idea and plan were not acceptable in the past, and the company faced a condition of failure in that project. However, the company made its effort to improve the working of those robots and succeeded in that project (Davis & Iwanow, 2009). The benefits could be derived from this technology in the modern world. As the world is moving fast, and there is a use of lots of machines for various purposes. Robot could be helpful in daily life workings as well as in military purpose to save the life of the soldiers. Other benefits of this technology could be determined that the robots are efficient, and there is no need for the manpower. The internal energy of the people could be saved, and the robots could do much faster work. There is an argument that the robots create laziness in the life of the people. If the robots could be available to everyone the energy would be wasted. In addition to the argument is that one cannot trust the machinery equipment as it sometimes misbehaves, which could be harmful to all aspects. Overall the technology is good enough, and the inventions of the company have influenced to improve the drawbacks of this technology. Robots could be used for security purpose is the crucial thing for the society (Davis & Iwanow, 2009). Home Automation Technology by Google Home automation refers to the controlling of basic functions related to home. A smart home is the name given to this home automotive technology. Google is engaged in making this type of devices or software, which is helpful in the automation of home. Google is not only concerned with the business purposes, but it always move forward to introduce new technologies to the households. The companies are required by the Google that are expert in producing appliances and security equipment for the consumers. The inventions of automotive alarms and thermostats along with the control of lights and media have impressed most of the people. The company acquires the company that is busy in making such type of devices so that the company could get its worth better and forward new technological aspects of those devices. The companies that were previously acquired by Google were making the automotive devices which helps the persons to secure homes and enjoy basic facilities of home with a small device may be called remote control (Erjavec & Thompson, 2014). New invention of Google is that it has formed software that could be useful in controlling the homes securities through smart phones. Apple set have different functions that are used to facilitate the person with most of the workings. Home automation is important because the world is moving so fast that most of the thing would be a step to fingers of the person. The company is providing this facility free of cost that could be acquired while having a device that supports Google search engine, for example, smart phones, computers, I pad,, etc.. All these devices have software that is to be downloaded and then it could be enjoyed free. The company is trying hard to incorporate such other features in it so to make it viable for most of the purposes related to home. The people related to this technology particularly use to work hard to give new invented technologies to the people for their easiness (Erjavec & Thompson, 2014). The benefits of the technology are not directly related to the business but in order to facilitate the general public it is an important step. The technology is easily adaptable to the people who use to adopt advanced technology in order to maintain their lives free from any tension. As well as the security is concerned the technology is less costly than to hire watchman for the purpose of security. The technology is trustworthy because it is proved by the history that technology could do more functions as compared to nonautomatic sources. An argument is considered to be valid that it is not quite difficult to break the security. The program hackers have different software that could be hacked and sometimes the security codes are being tackled by the hackers. Although the technology has sometimes proved to be a failure, it has also noticed that the company always introduces advanced functions of the technology. The advanced features of the technology lead down the argument against it and proof to be a reliable technology (Erjavec & Thompson, 2014). Research on Clean Energy Global warming is one of the greatest concerns of the today’s the world as it is affecting the people to a greater extent. The engineers at Google once believed that it easy to overcome the problem of world’s energy. They gave a very simple solution to it while addressing a Global Warming session. They believed that the world’s energy problem can be solved by improving the existing renewable energy technology till it comes at the price of fossil fuels. The engineers at Google believed it to be that easy and claimed that they can do it in years, and this invention will not take decades to overcome the crisis of the world (McNerney, 2012). It was Google’s aim to improve the renewable energy to an extent that one gigawatt of it can be produced at the price of coal. The company invested millions of dollars towards this technology as it would have solved the problem of global warming to a great extent. It is a positive thinking, but Google soon realized their plan will not work accordingly. There was news that it has shut down its project of clean energy but the officials at Google have not given any statement on it (McNerney, 2012). The officials at Google has explained that it is not that easy as they thought it to be but they also mentioned that they have not lost hope in their dream and they still plan to continue to spend millions on this project as they consider it very essential for mankind. They did not mention any particular progress that have taken place in this project or by what time it will be completed as people will be more interested in knowing that (McNerney, 2012). Google claims that it is still working on this project, and a few officials at Google have also explained the benefits that can be derived from the planned invention of Google. According to the officials at Google, if the plan of clean energy is successful then in 30 years the world will be changed as the emission of carbon dioxide will reduce by 55 %. They are of the view that if the clean energy can be produced at the price of coal many people will use their electronic items through this source of energy and it will replace the current form of energy production (McNerney, 2012). Many people believe that Google should keep on working on their dream of clean energy as it will be very beneficial for the whole world. The energy produced by Google will be as cheap as the current rates of energy, and people will soon shift towards it as it is the need of the society these days. In the current era, many precautionary steps are taken by people to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide so that the earth can be a better place to live.
