An Android App as a Guide of Injectable Medicines - Dissertation Example

Currently, the Injectable Medicines guide is accessible for Doctors and nurses via a website; “http://www.injguide.nhs.uk.” This means that doctors and nurses have to be connected to the Internet. The application will allow doctors and nurses to access the guide whenever and wherever they need to use the guide. There are many ways to get that application designed and implemented, and for that, research has been done to choose the best design that will suit this IMG application.The app is an android application and will be designed for doctors and nurses in the NHS in Wales and is called “Injectable Medicines Guide.

” The Guide will contain a set of monographs of Injectable Medicines and the prescribing and administration information needed by medical staff to administer these drugs to patients safely. The application runs on both mobile phones and tablets, which run the Android operating system.The main motivation behind developing this application was that I did not get the opportunity to do the UK's industrial year. When I saw this project, I told myself this is the right chance to have such an experience of developing an application for the NHS in Wales.

Despite the experience, I tried my best to learn Android, although I did not have a chance to do it in the last two years. Moreover, smartphones have become more and more popular due to the increase of users and apps sales, to be able to design apps for android phones will be supplementary for a Computer Science student. Finally, for me to say thanks to the country that I stayed in for five years, and I have learned a lot from living and studying in the UK, a person should give back something to the country that he/she learned from.

I took this chance to develop an application for one of the British organizations like the NHS, and I will be very proud of giving more than that to this country.
