Jewellery Design website 1. Introduction The Internet has become a basic need for every business or organization. At the present, almost every business or organization makes use of the Internet to offer products, services and attract customers. The basic reason behind use of Internet is to extend the business scope and manage the business activities in a more appropriate manner. By seeing such enhanced business development through the web based structures, Maryam who is running a jewellery designing business, has decided to establish and renovate the customary business practice through the new web based business platform. This report will present detailed analysis of the new web based business development planning and implementation factors. 2. Project environment and problem to be solved For the implementation of this business infrastructure we need to assess lot of factors regarding the environment and problem to be solved. This will be helpful in managing the project and its scope. 2.1. Business Client The jewelry designing business involves women. The women are engaged in this business are housewives or from fashion world. In addition, some jewelers also resale and ask for new jewelry designs. 2.2. Business Client Concerns The business clients of Maryam jewelry are mostly linked to business through the physical shop based business. They come on the business store, check new designs or order the new designs. In this scenario they need to select among the given list or design book of the Maryam Jewelry Shop. 2.3. Problem Areas The main problem with the present structure of Maryam Jewelry Shop is time consuming and exhausting selection, ordering and purchasing circle. In this scenario a customer needs to come to Maryam Jewelry Shop. Then he/she has to select among the long lists of the new designs. After he/she purchases the already developed set of the order for new set that will be delivered after a specific time limit. In addition, customer needs to revisit the shop for collecting designed set. Therefore, in this overall shopping cycle a customer wastes extra time and money in travelling and waiting for the purchase of Jewelry sets. 3. Project aims and objectives This section will discuss aims and objectives for the development of online web site of Maryam’s Jewelry Shop. 3.1. Aim of the project The online Maryam’s Jewelry Shop project is aimed at offering following facilities and opportunities. Better working environment Minimizing time required for shopping Offering customer better facilities regarding design selection Availability of all old and new designs on the web Easy shipping (online payment and order booking) Less complex process of shopping Offering less time consuming and easy to access sale point 3.2. Objectives Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop development has following objectives: User friendly interface Use of simple and eye-soothing colour Easy to use system Facility of shipment Establishment of online payment system Offering clients the facility to offer their own design and facility to personalize their Jewelry design Offering better security for the online payment Enhancing business revenue through capturing more customer markets through web based structure 4. Project deliverables In this project there will be following deliverables: Project management report System planning report Risk management report Project Budget report System testing and quality assurance report System help manual New working Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system application User (Shop workers) training 5. Project constraints In this overall system implementation the main constraint is regarding the business objective fulfillment. This system needs to offer better support for the business operations and management of online orders for the Jewelry design. After that we need to consider the Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system development budget and development cost. This project needs to be developed in the predetermined cost and budget plan. The next main constraint is the project time line. We have to complete the Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop project in the predetermined time plan. In this way the project should be handled and managed in efficient manner. A main project constraint is the project change management. The Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop project needs to be developed under the pre-established requirements. If the project requirements change during the project development time period then it can affect the overall project operational performance. When system coding ends we will test the system for finding and fixing the system errors. The next stage will be regarding the system deployment and testing of the Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system. In this system development we need to research and investigate the business operating cycles. In the development of the Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system we need to collect the business and online dealing requirements regarding the customer point of view. In this scenario we need to assess the customer point of view how they want to view the web site of Maryam’s Jewelry Shop. For this we will perform a survey, where we will distribute the questionnaire among different women to take the customer response about the new web based platform. In this system development we will require effective skills of system designing and coding. In addition, we will need excellent skills of PHP programming and My-SQL. 7. Facilities and resources The main facilities that we will need for this system development are given below in form of requirements. 7.1. Software Requirements CASE tools for designing Dreamweaver for web pages designing PHP My-SQL Word process for reporting and help manual 7.3. Log of risks In this development of Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system we will establish a predefined contact to the system client. In this development we will ensure the availability of resources and services on time and their on time delivery for the continuous development of the project. 8.1. Schedule risk This risk is about missing the scheduled and established time line. The chance of occurrence of this type of risk is low. Any event scheduled in such way that the place where it was needed but it was not there. For its better handling we need to pay more emphasis on the work breakdown structure to see that all the events are planned well. 8.2. Initial Cost Deciding initial cost for the Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system development if that is not enough for the project development, this can be a risk. The chance of occurrence of this risk is low. For its effective mitigation we need to see the main deliverables and have a healthy work out on the cost estimation. 8.3. Feasibility The feasibility related problems should also be assessed. The chance of this type of risk during system development is low. For its mitigation we need to plan this project in better way 8.4. Technology Any risk regarding the implementation of technology for Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system. Its main occurrence is rare. It can be handled by allocating additional cost to the maintenance and consultation. 9. Starting point for research For the development of Maryam’s online Jewelry Shop system we need to start the research and understand the existing online businesses. In this scenario we will initially assess the main needs, requirements and potential enhancements in the overall business infrastructure. In this way, we would be able to start the development of the system in appropriate manner. 10. In this report I have tried to present comprehensive overview of different system development factures such as system risks and constraints. In this report I have also outlined some aspects for defining the system development stages and planning the overall development.
