These technologies are being introduced in the society so that society can progress and develop. Things which were difficult previously have been made easier by these technologies. An example here can be considered of the microwave oven. Previously food could not be warmed as easily as it can be now because of the introduction of the microwave oven. Similarly to make things easier for society computers and information technology had been developed. Now with more modern and complex inventions computers and information technology are further developing. One such development in the field of information technology has been the introduction of wireless fidelity. This wireless fidelity has progressed in the world now and has made things easier for computer users which previously were impossible (Aime et al 2007 & Korzeniowski 2008)
Wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) is a term widely used for a technology which helps to connect computers with each other on a mobile network without the use of wires. Wi-Fi is a technology developed on the standards of IEEE 802.11. Through the usage of Wi-Fi, it has become easy for the users of the computers to connect with other computers and devices without the usage of wires. In other words, Wi-Fi has created wireless networks for computer and devices which possess the service of Wi-Fi (Aime et al 2007 & Korzeniowski 2008).
Wi-Fi falls under the category of wireless network protocols and it uses its specific protocol of 802.11 standards. The standards of IEEE 802.11 refer to a network protocol which helps the computers connect to it and this protocol is 802.11. This 802.11 protocol is further segmented in three forms which are 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g respectively.  ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

.... It transmits information to and from the internet. Any data transfer from a website is done when the website sends information to the modem. This information is then passed on to a wireless router. This device routes data (converts information to radio waves and beams it) to your computer. This information is then interpreted by the computer with the help of wireless networking specific hardware/software. Exactly the same process occurs but only in the opposite direction when the computer wants to send information over the internet. Very often, a wireless connection operates faster than a wired broadband internet connection. Who invented? An Australian research body CSIRO was the first...

...?The Wi-Fi Technology Image of the technology (e.g. an application) and a The Wi-Fi is a technology using which internet can be accessed. The term Wi-Fi has been derived from “Wireless Fidelity.” It defines different kinds of wireless technologies that are covered by the specifications of the IEEE 802.11. Some of these technologies are “the wireless protocols 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g. The Wi-Fi Alliance is the body responsible for promoting the term and its association with various wireless technology standards” (wi-fihotspotlist.com, 2011). The following figure shows how the Wi-Fi technology works. There is a wireless router at the access point that is generating signals within a range that are being identified by the Wi-Fis... ...

Wi-Fi Technology: Wireless Fidelity

...Wi-Fi Technology: Wireless Fidelity Introduction: Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity. It was originally designed to allow network elements to roam in warehouses and manufacturing facilities without getting out of reach of the connected network and without being subjected to cumbersomeness of wired network elements. Wireless LANs or WLANS are used all over the world now as an alternative to wired LANs or an extension to them (Nepalese Technology Navigator). The Wireless Networks cost less than the wired connections where cables are required to connect every other computer. This results in increased cost and decreased flexibility. To address these issues,...
