In modern times, information technology systems have become an integral part of many organizations and have given them a new life in form of revampedand rapid functional services.America’s number two discount retail chain that has spread its wings in nearly 50 states across the country. After successfully managing to evade the heat of global recession couple of years back, it has initiated a move that would enable it reaching to its customers across the border- Canada.Target has been on the same foot stepping for a while now and has embraced information technology.
The working on this franchise is largely handled through information systems. Since most of the work conducted is online hence there was a general sense of urge for a robust system which ensured availability and reach to all customers no matter which state and how far they lived from the physical outlets.With number of subsidiaries in the bank, I.T system is definitely the perfect recipe for conducting the operations and fulfilling the customers’ needs. The large number of stores under its belt and ever expanding market along with customers’ enrollment brought about excessive use of information technology into it (Kurtz, 2010).
Further intentions of going further global in coming years and strengthening the corridors of investment inside the country, further use of information technology will be on the view. It would help in managing the orders and customers.The element of supply chain is largely dependent on the effective use of technology.
