Text Field: This is a basic input control that provides a box of specific size. It is used to capture data from the user. For instance, you can specify a text field that is 25 characters in length into which users can type in data of 25 characters maximum. Text fields can also be used to display information after processing ( Collihan 228).
Submit button: It is a button that has programming statements that submits the form’s data to the form processing agent specified by the form element action attribute. It sends the information for processing to the CGI and brought back for users to see. Submit button is an important input control that executes statements on other controls when triggered.
Reset button: It is a button with programming statements that let users resets the form or clear any previous entries. It is mostly used to clear contents after making a mistake in your entry. When the button is clicked it resets back all the controls in the form to their initial states.
Radio button: This is an input control that is circular in shape. It is a button that appears filled when selected and empty when unselected (Callihan 230). You can select only one radio button in a list at a time. For instance, male or female. Radio buttons are important controls in designing the user interface. They are often used when making a decision.
Checkbox: This is an input control displayed as a square box .Unlike radio buttons, users can select many checkboxes in a list. (Callihan 219). Checkboxes are used when you want to select more than one item in a list. For example, selecting several units from a list of units provided.
