The reliability of the device is brought about by its efficiency, which is, in turn, brought about by the technology. Therefore, the technology used has enhanced reliability. The essay also provides the example of a mobile phone, which has enhanced communication, whereby an individual can easily talk to another person from anywhere. Other than communication, mobile phones also contain games which can give an individual entertainment when one is bored (Ursula 2007). Entertainment is also enhanced by multimedia which can provide music for the user to listen. The concept of safety is brought about by the presence of buttons and light, whereby when a specific button or buttons are pressed, the bulbs are able to light up eliminating any risks of stealing or destroying the device. Therefore, the technology enhanced safety of the device. Generally, technology is extremely important for everyday’s life of people (Ursula 2007). Essay 3: Affordances and Mapping Affordance refers to the properties of the substance that suggests how an individual needs to use them. In other words, affordance is the design aspect of an entity, which provides proposals of how it should be used. The fact that the third essay really addressed the concept of how the buttons and the lights on the design need to be used makes it clear that the objective of the essay was met.
