Web 2.0 tools deal with users and content, and are changing the way people share their contexts, opinions, experiences and thoughts. ‘Web 2.0 tools such as RSS, weblogs, social networking and picture sharing sites are getting more popular especially that most of these technologies can be accessed free of charge’ (Bawden 2001). 1.2.

Background This study is exceedingly beneficial because it will center on the effectiveness of web 2.0 tools in information literacy in education, workplace and everyday lives of the peoples in Australia and New Zealand. Digital information affects every modern life aspects of the people. This aims to develop guidelines ‘formalizing academic standard practices’ (Albitz 2007) and reporting using web 2.0 forms of authoring or content creation like blogging, social bookmarking and podcasting. b. Aims and objectives This study is intended to investigate the strategies and tools available to further develop the success of web 2.

0 tools in the sectors of education, workforce and the society as a whole, specifically in Australia and New Zealand. c. Project significance Web 2.0 technologies provide teachers new ways to engage students in a meaningful way. Children raised on new media technologies are less patient with filling out work sheets and listening to lectures because they already participate on a global level through the internet. The use of web 2.0 technologies proves the fact that education is a constantly evolving process. d. Research methods Research methods will include literature review, experimental investigation, modeling and data validation. e. Abstract Children raised on new media technologies are less patient with filling out work sheets and listening to lectures because students already participate on a global level.

Students receive more updated feedback online and they get to interact globally. Web 2.0 technologies allow anyone to study anything anywhere in the world because the world is their huge library of knowledge. Whether they are participating in a class discussion or forum discussion, the available web 2.0 technologies will increase their amount of participation. f. Resources required include justification for required resources Justification for required resources is available under Small Research Grants and Religion Society Proposal g.
