This digital age requires upbeat appreciation of Information technology especially by businesses considering that it is the driving force behind various successes. In other words, IT plays a multifaceted role in the success of any business if effectively utilized. A number of organizations have utilized information technology to create and maintain competitive edge in the business arena. Organizations utilize computer information systems to ease access and processing of large pools of data, and thus promote quick decision regarding the issue at disposal. For instance, organizations normally make use of a computer based information system known as Decision Support System (DSS) to make quick and valuable business decisions after analysis of data. It is noteworthy that information technology is highly significant for effective operation of every organization and as such, Lisa and Ruben should not relent in their effort to integrate information technology in the operations of Club IT. It is relevant to start by pointing out that despite all the efforts applied in extensive remodeling of the club, Club It will not be in a position to exploit its full potential without embracing information technology. Lisa and Ruben will start the journey towards employing IT in Club IT operations by installing appropriate information system (IS) infrastructure within the organization. Key hardware to be acquired by Club IT includes CPUs, monitors, and storage devices, while the software will include application programs that will support the club’s systems. The Network includes all the network devices used to link hardware within the club as well as outside network. Procedures refer to all the policies that will be used to control the club’s computer system while the database refers to the data storage and retrieval system. Information systems are important to every organization for a number of ways that include gathering data, processing, dissemination, and storage of information (Rainer and Turban, 2009). By installing effective information system infrastructure, Club IT will stand a better chance of gathering and storing vital information about the clients, which may include favorite drinks, music, or services. Information systems will save Lisa and Ruben a great deal in the sense that they will no longer have to engage in paper work, which is too bulky and tedious. Processing of raw data into finished timely, efficient, and reliable information is supported through information system. For instance, Club IT will find it easy to track sale of drinks from the warehouse and consequently accessing the closing stock at the end of the day without physical count. Lisa and Ruben have several information systems at their disposal to improve the Club’s information technology, data management, and decision-making capabilities. They should start by adopting an integrated inventory system that seeks to harmonize all the operations in the supply chain. However, before adopting the inventory system it is important for Reuben and Lisa to consult inventory system vendors for an advice on various requirements that will adequately meet the needs of the Club. Other key stakeholders to be engaged in the system analysis include sales personnel, storekeepers and their respective executives. An inventory System as a computer system it is developed with a view of managing elementary day-to-day transactions of an organization relating to inventory management starting from the suppliers, warehousing and sales (Kelly, 2010). It is often very cumbersome to trace recurrent transactions manually thus the need for an Inventory System. This type of computer system will be important to Club IT for tracking sales of various brands of drinks and beverages besides real time tracking of inventory. The club also needs an Integrated Management Information system (MIS) that takes into consideration all the key functions of the Clubs, which may include sales, storage, finance, administration, procurement, and customer care. By Embracing management information system, Club IT will be relieved from manual processing of vital information such as employee salaries or wages, sales and financial data. Additionally, the management will always be accessible to timely, concise, and reliable data about key aspects of the organizations such as accounting data, customer services, and movement of stock as well as sales date. It is noteworthy that MIS is also an important storage tool for vital organizations information and as such, Lisa and Ruben will be relieved from current cumbersome physical storage of data. Club IT should also take advantage of technological advancements such as Internet, which is important for E-commerce. The organization should start by designing a website, which it can utilize for its e-marketing programs. It is noteworthy that many club goers normally browse through the Internet to find Clubs that at least provide unique products. This means that e marketing is important for creating brand awareness thus increased customers based and high return. The Club should also install internet to facilitate online transactions and communication activities, which are always faster and cheaper compared to other forms of communication and modes of transaction.
