Mobile Technology in Organizations Change is a remarkable event in everyone’s life. Rapid change in technology has brought diverse effects to individual’s lives. Change comes in succession and happens in everyone’s life. How an individual approaches the changes in life becomes a question at hand. Changes that arise in an individual’s life may either be socially, economically, or politically allied. Change may either have optimistic or pessimistic impact on an individual’s life. Change in technology has diversely altered the way people converse and relay message. Different ways have come up where an individual can have a discussion with another who is miles away (Huang, et al., 91). Change in technology has led to introduction of mobile phones as a means of communication. Many organizations in the society have opted in using mobile phones as means of communication. This paper discusses in depth the optimistic impacts of the use of mobile technology in business. Mobile technology refers to various types of cellular communication technology devices. These devices include palmtop computers, net-book computers, smart phones, which are the most common, global positioning devices, and wireless debit or credit cards. In most cases, mobile devices may greatly alter business transactions (Unhelkar, 27). For instance, mobile technological devices entail new ways of management, invention, and innovation of new products, and how service is given to customers. Mobile technology has subsequently enabled individuals to have extensive tours all over the world with no fear of business management. Moreover, staff that work away from their business locations benefit immensely from the use of mobile phones. Smart phones are not only used for communication but also serve a wide range of functions such as business transactions and research. Scholarly research depicts that the mobile phone is credibly the single transformative technology in development. The use of mobile technology has led to the change of marketing practices at a much faster rate than anyone could have imagined. This has resulted in increasing of productivity in the businesses (Barnes and Scornavacca, 125). Mobile technology portrays a wide range of first modern infrastructure in the society. Over years, usage of mobile technology has boomed and technology that is strictly for a particular business has been developed. Businesses have devised their own software where they can carry out business transactions. Moreover, businesses are able to solve quite a range of problems using mobile technology. The level of technology is one essential factor that people consider before purchasing any device. Apart from the ultimate goal of targeting customers, businesses use mobile technology to simplify their office operations and advance planning and organization. The impact of mobile technology on business economy has been highly optimistic (Simon, 157). Mobile technology has been a force that clears away barriers, promotes inclusiveness, and opens opportunities to all those who would otherwise not partake in the digital cost-cutting measures. Arguably, the use of mobile technology devices has enabled businesses worldwide to come up with strategies of solving their problems. The explosion and expansion of mobile technology has benefited businesses, improved efficiency, streamlined processes, and enabled completely new businesses (Barnes and Scornavacca, 126). Mobile technology devices as depicted by scholars will in the new future take place of desktops. This is because businesses each passing day keep on inventing mobile software platforms that enhance the mode of information delivery and change the operation systems of both the businesses and customers. The most significant benefit that arises from the use of mobile technology in businesses is accessibility. As depicted by Simon (151), mobile technology enables a whole network of employees or offices in an organization to carry out business transactions no matter where they are located. Moreover, it becomes easier to use a laptop where more and better information is available anytime. In addition, presentation and usage of information can consider the current situation of the user since applications can be context-sensitive. It is important to note that checking orders, prices, and stocks can be conducted using mobile devices as well as making online payments. Business issues and tasks may be fixed online; hence, anything that is going on at the main computer can be accessed when the individual using the mobile device is under wireless signal. Another benefit that arises from the use of mobile technological devices is their fast rate in sending a message, communication, or any other transaction. For instance, these devices use a short time in delivering important documents, records, and information (Barnes and Scornavacca, 54). Moreover, people are able to communicate and carry out business transactions outside the country still within a short period. This, therefore, enhances the efficiency of the devices for use. Not only do the mobile devices deliver information within a short while, but also provide correct information that is error free and not at any point distorted. In any case, the mobile technological devices have been designed in a manner that they are input data fault tolerant and technology mostly restricts the way input data is performed by the end-user. Mobile technology can be of very much help in business when making bookings of meeting and appointments. In most cases, it becomes hard for an individual to organize a meeting or book for a meeting when far away. These devices act as functional organizers and, thus, help an individual in organizing for a business meeting. Moreover, it is also possible to set reminders which help in maintaining time and being prompt (Huang, et al., 119). Additionally, these mobile devices enable an individual to call and confirm, clarify or alter any meetings designed even at the last minute. This helps in solving conveniences of going to a meeting and finding out that the meeting was cancelled. Accessibility of the Internet has been made possible via e-mail communication. Moreover, an individual is able to receive mail messages and quickly send back a reply other than going all the way to a cyber caffe to access the Internet services. The use of smart phones can also allow an individual to access electronic messages by the use of the WAP and the GPRS networks (Freire, 217). Some network packages allow announcement of faxes, thus, enabling an individual to forward or obtain messages from the nearest fax number. Therefore, an individual’s ability to communicate with his/her employer or employees does not diminish. It is important to note that mobile technology devices that are used for business processes are easy and cheap to implement (Huang, 74). In most cases, an individual is able to hold and effectively use the device. Therefore, the low cost of business equipment and proper organization enhances effective work. Unlike people who go to banks either to deposit money or inquire of bank services, an individual is able to carry out any transaction at home by using the mobile technological devices. This reduces transport costs and expenses incurred in going to banks (Simon, 3). Mobile technological devices in business also reduce theft practices. For instance, an individual may only carry bankcards rather than cash money and this becomes a safety measure to the business. An individual feels safe when walking around by only carrying bankcards, credit cards, or deposit cards. In addition, market audiences tend to be scattered in different geographical areas and thus businesses can go global without spending too much for investments. No matter the type of business an individual does, mobile technology plays a vital role in the business either through communication or through management. Scholarly research depicts that mobile technology has experienced rapid development over years. Mobile technological devices enable transparency, which forms the basis for sustainable business (Huang, et al., 93). In most cases, transparency prevents spurs growth, risks, unlocks creativity, and empowers an individual in any transaction. In reality, due to the changing world, leaders in both political and business world should acknowledge the transformative power of mobile technology for social and economic development. Information technology can be a game-changer, thus, improving the living standards in emerging countries. The pace at which new inventions are made every day makes it hard to predict the future. Information technology helps in bridging the gap between people and digital devices. People tend to use mobile technological devices mostly for leisure purposes, thus, fail to engage in innovative projects. Failure to mobilize business processes and real-time information will lead to a poor economy in the society. In conclusion, it is important to accept change in the society. Change is a condition that comes into every individual’s life and hard to resist. Whether good or bad, it is crucial to appreciate and accept change. Every individual should learn to live with change rather than oppose it. Within the past few years, the level of technology has been changing posing both optimistic and pessimistic impacts to the society. The paper has laid down some of the benefits of using mobile technology in organizations. It can be depicted that the power of information technology has been a driving force for social innovation, whether through education or better access to economic opportunities. The use of mobile technology in business has positively improved the world’s living standards by boosting the business economy both locally and internationally (Freire, 220).
