Overview of Telecommunication Alan David is a communications specialist who deals with the day to day issues that occur at the backend of the Vodafone mobile company within the New York City. This interview was conducted on 9th August 2011 in Alan David’s office where he made us visit the entire office facility. After this was done, Alan David made us feel cozy in his room and started to tell what he actually did within his workplace. Being a telecommunications specialist, he is the one who decides what kind of pricing strategies are deemed as proper for the organization and how to go about completing the basic tasks of the company on a day to day basis.

He also makes it a point to ask for his subordinates to give communication briefs to him so that they remain in the same fray without much difficulty. The ease of work has made Alan David’s life a routine and he believes it is all because he has always relied strongly on prioritizing tasks within his workplace. That is the lesson that he imparts to others as well. What is very peculiar about Alan David is the fact that he remains vigilant about the work routines which are shaping up and changing by the minute.

He is always aware of the competitors and what pricing mechanisms they are employing within the local industrial domains to get their niche. In essence, it is a good practice on his part that he remains supremely confident of his work tasks and does not stray from the set course of action. This is the basis of much success with his professional as well as personal life. Alan David is mindful of the threats that the competitors come up with every now and then. This is the reason why he is proactive in his work tasks and has his ways of finding out how the competitors are faring in the tough industrial domains that have come about.

Alan David meets Jon Lever who is a company sales manager in a local bank almost daily. He finds out from him what kind of sales figures the investors within banks are looking forward to having within their ranks. He gains immense understanding after analyzing where he is going wrong and what corrective steps are needed on his part for the communications specialist role that he is at the end of the day. Alan David also gets connected with Jimmy Sharp on the phone regularly just to stay in touch with what the competitors are coming up with in terms of different packages and plans.

He wants to make sure that Vodafone stays ahead of other mobile companies that are existent within the United States of America. Thus the efforts undertaken by Alan David are completely in line with what his job focus has been designed by the company. Vodafone has appointed brilliant individuals within the organizational hierarchies and Alan David is one such example. He knows exactly what to expect of his own self and how to go about delivering the best results possible for not only his own self but also for Vodafone (Daniels, 1996).

This is the reason why Alan David has won many awards and certificates ever since he joined the mobile company, as he proudly showed in the interview. He also demonstrated his interest for fishing which has been placed in a couple of paintings on his table. He believes that fishing is a very fine example of doing nothing yet enjoying on a weekend. Usually he is out with his family for such a pastime once every two weeks, if he is not too occupied with work. Alan David also interacts with Shelly Reid, owner of an online web portal for arranging advertising for Vodafone.

He gets in touch with Kelly Marxson for getting the best advertising rates in the market and then chooses which media to adopt for the communications role of the pricing mechanism for Vodafone. Therefor Alan David’s role is very magnanimous within the thick of things and keeps getting bigger and better with each passing day. He knows he is on the right track and that is the reason why his bosses are also happy with him. Therefore it would be wise to sum up the conclusion by suggesting that Alan David is doing a worthwhile and honest job for Vodafone.

His interactions with people and professionalism towards his own work are paying dividends in the long run. This is the reason why Alan David is appreciated across the board and applauded openly.
