Candidate short-lister is an Excel-based tool, developed to help recruitment agencies short-list the right candidates for interview scheduling.
Selection of the top 5 candidates internally sorts the selected data based on an intelligent rule to choose only the top-rated candidates. The intelligence rule is based on the number of ‘A’ grades in the essential criteria requirements which are then sorted again by the number of ‘A’s in the desired criteria. This gives a more scrutinized level of sorting, for selecting the most qualified candidates in case of a huge number of candidates satisfying the requirements. Moreover, each page is enhanced with ‘Save’ and ‘Print’ options to ease the operation of saving the work and printing them whenever required, during the process. The below screenshot shows the initial screen of the tool.
For easy navigation, View application data and view shortlisted data options are added in the initial sheet, which when clicked will take us to the respective sheet.
The desired and the essential criteria for the job description are added in the respective columns without any space between the cells and also between the heading and the data as shown in figure 2 and ‘Generate Application_data Sheet’ is clicked. This will create a template for the Application data sheet for entering the application data (shown in figure 3).
The yellow colored cells indicate the fields are under the essential criteria category. The required data are filled in manually under each heading from the application form (figure 4).
The minimum qualifying grade used in this selection process is also given in the Shortlisted Candidates sheet in pink line. If the user is not satisfied with the number of shortlisted candidates and wants to maximize or minimize the result, they can edit the field and refine the search (figure 6). Read More
