The Ebonic Dialect Boundary/Rigidity Scholars define a Dialect as a cultural group engulfed by a main language that is different in many ways from the main one. It is an island within the bigger ocean of language. It is also an oasis within the desert of the main language. Differences could stem from behaviours, varied interests, and beliefs. Beliefs include ethnicity, religion, economic, and social status. The discourse discusses the Ebonic dialect as an experience of mixed accepted language within the structure of globalization. Ebonic dialect emerged as a link of the relationship between modernity and traditional English language. In many ways, the Dialect deviates from the Arnoldian vision form of language common in the context the common English cultural setup. Scholars posit that those who started the dialect were a group of black academicians most of them African Americans. The Ebonic culture considers each day as a conception used in redirecting the principle for comprehending language. Various displays of artistic expressions within the public sphere are a common feature in the Anglophone world. However, Ebonic dialect comes out as a modern form across most English countries. The coverage of the English Spring by the international media highlighted its social value. Many photo galleries, articles, main daily newspapers, various blogs, news channels, and web pages run by major international media focused on Ebonic English throughout the spring. The relevance of Ebonic dialect in the public sphere as a significant form of communication continues to increase. It allows freedom of expression while at the time ensuring fortification of anonymity. Originally, the term referred to prehistoric inscriptions found on the remnants of the Negro. The epistemology of the term comes from the Italian word graffito translated to scratch. Today, the term includes drawings on various mixed elements, on walls created in the public sphere, and does require authorization. Other scholars refer to it as street literature in other parts of the world. Those creating the Ebonic culture use various things among them different types of wordings, and sentence structure focused on the image and a text. Ebonic dialect remains a youth cultural event for African Americans. The first signs appeared in 1973. However, it picked in the US in the seventies and eighties spreading to other parts of the world thereafter (Deng, Deng, and Ajak, 2006, 67). It caught public attention in the mid nineteenth century as an artistic display of identity within the mixed setting. Teenagers in New York started writing their pseudonyms on city walls at that time. It is easy to identify three main areas of interest concerning the degree of production of Ebonic words in the English World. The media with the society in these areas regard the Ebonic dialect as a barometer of occurrences in the society besides the abundance of its use. Scholars aver that the ethnic and religious diversity of Lebanon in addition to its strategic location between the English World and the Mediterranean basin contributed to the development of Ebonic dialect as a youth Dialect. Local residents of the AnglophoneTerritories consider Ebonic culture as the strongest form of displaying resistance towards actions they term a modern-day form of colonization (Sameer, 2013, 19). The coverage of the events in Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, and Libya by the international media highlighted the social value of Ebonic besides manifesting its militant functions. The coverage drew the attention to a form of both political and artistic expression of typical Ebonic dialect by the youth of MENA. A report from the UN indicates that more than half of the youths in the groups averaged 42 years. Academicians link the mergence and presence of Ebonic Dialect in the English World to the political events in the region that result in social protests experienced in the recent past. Most of them identify the Lebanese civil war full of religious and political inscriptions as the cause of the emergence of Ebonic dialect in America. The Ebonic culture quickly filled the vacuum necessitated by the removal of the inscription in the last decade of the twentieth century. The development of hip-hop language favours the occurrence and development of the western-inspired shapes of Ebonic culture. The inscriptions on city walls within the AnglophoneTerritories in eighties were a form of communication applied in spreading propaganda among the warring factions. Therefore, Ebonic dialect was a product of the whole community besides being the dialect of the community. The Intifadas contain Ebonic words as one of the core elements in the AnglophoneTerritory. The locals continue to use it in resisting against what they consider a present-day colonialism. In addition to having inscriptions on city walls, they put them on the standard curiculum. Scholars mention the American society during the Cold War as the most practical manifestations of using Ebonic dialect for both social and political activism. The same features apply in the English World. Ebonic dialect and mural wordings dominate the American society. Both cases associate Ebonic dialect with social and political protest in the two regions. Their analysis reveals the emergence of new features of the group as it displays its identity in its dynamics and the public sphere. As much as the Ebonic dialect draws its origin from the Western World, it constitutes different features that deviate from those in the West. Differences occur in the variation in themes, and the broader, as well as the more proactive functionality. Studies on the use of Ebonic words in the West show that the writings included the signature, name, and tag. The same does not apply in the Ebonic culture. Slogans and murals of warring factions with different social and political themes symbolize social occurrences and realities marking the existing history of the region. Informational upheaval helps in intensifying the cultural associations between the West and English countries. The relationship uses the internet as the main medium of communication in the current age of globalization resulting in spatial and temporal firmness. Time and space are growing narrower in the current where advancements in information and communication technology constantly take place (El-Badry, 2014, 29). Human perception remains on the receiving end of the changes. Bauman holds that a complicated transformation of the constraints of the human feature defines the firmness of the group. It is crucial for the human condition to face the new form of social proximity that defies the influence of distance. Virilio refers to the state as the end of geography while McLuhan calls it a global village. Apparudai avers that it is overestimation to theorize the world as a global village without giving due consideration to the influence of the new media order in communication. Taking such steps, failure to make sense of a public sphere that puts a question on the issue of authenticity within the locality. Disparate groups in the world unify courtesy of the new communication channels, which facilitates the formation of new Dialects. The internet mediates the formation. It entails social networks that give trans-cultural, trans-national, and broad-based medium. Robert Fine defines a broad-based condition as a multifarious social actuality flexible enough to reconstruct and deconstruct (Feffrey, 2013, 56). The scholar highlights three features in the process of defining cosmopolitanism. First, the creation of differentiated practices, laws in a global context, and institutions with the internet as the platform of communication. The practices, laws, and institutions influence the language of various societies in the world. Therefore, English countries cannot escape without a mark. Finally, Fine writes that an element of recalibration exists from the emerging form of revolution. Recalibration consists of actions aimed at rediscovering localism, particularity, as well as distinctions. The distinctions cover issues that minimize order, unity, and integration of cultural aspects relating to modernity as defined in the Western World.
