The paper “How Management Training Can Affect the Management of Organizational Rumor” is a dramatic example of a human resources thesis proposal. Rumor, which exists in social setups, can have positive or negative effects and the study focuses on how organizations can gain better control of rumors for effective management of employee confidentiality, performance, turnover, productivity, and job quality through management training on rumor control. Rumors can be very damaging in the workplace; they can be a source of threats to employees and can affect their productivity.

The study is worth conducting because of the possible effects of rumor, both positive and negative, and the need to manage rumor for optimization of its outcomes. The focus of identifying strategies for effective rumor management, due to management training, is likely to inform management of organizational rumor for the elimination of negative rumor or mitigation of adverse effects of negative rumor. The ability of the study to identify how organizations can promote positive rumors also identifies the worth of the study through the positive effects of applications of the results and recommendations.

The study will be completed through a qualitative research method. Empirical research provides credible and dependable information for theory and concept development and for informing practice. Qualitative research methods involve the collection and analysis of subjective data, on people’s perceptions or from people’s experiences, and offer a basis for understanding the experiences or perceptions of training on the management of organizational rumor. Analysis of relevant qualitative data will identify issues and factors around organizational rumor and training on the management of organizational rumor to address the focus of the study.

A dearth of empirical literature exists on the association between management training and the management of organizational rumors. Hernandez (2015), in an investigation of the management of organizational rumor and the possible role of emotional intelligence in the management, identified the significance of systematic processes to effective management of organizational rumor.
