The paper 'The Effects of Short Term Contract on an Organization' is a worthy example of a research proposal on human resources.
The following research questions used in the study are in line with the research problem and the purpose statement:

  1. How is an organization affected by hiring short term employees?
  2. Is the job productivity of employees affected by short term contracts?
  3. What mechanisms does KFS use to cope with the short term employees?
  4. What are some of the emerging trends in temporary employment?

Quantitative and Qualitative Methodologies

The researcher used quantitative methods to collect data whereby questionnaires used in the study were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS which is a statistical package for analysis. The quantitative data were presented using descriptive statistics which include means, frequencies, and percentages. The quantitative data was summarized in pie charts, graphs, bar charts, and tables. The data collected at Kenya Forest Service on the effects of short term employment contracts on an organization was interpreted and described by computing and tallying varying responses obtained from the questionnaires. Additionally, the data is collected from closed-ended questions that have simple responses that are in multiple choices. The responses to the questions are related to previous knowledge that is associated with text (Ozuru, Briner, Kurby & McNamara, 2013).

On the other hand, qualitative methods involve data gathered from open-ended questionnaires. Open-Ended Questionnaires are those that require the respondents to provide more thoughtful responses instead of a one-word response. Responses from the questions are associated with explanations that are qualitative (Ozuru, Briner, Kurby & McNamara, 2013). The questions can be analyzed by the development of a code system and thematic analysis. The coding can be conducted by a computer program (Popping, 2015).

The Qualitative research method used in the study was questionnaires and interviews on the effects of short term employment contracts on Kenya Forest Service (Taylor, Bogdan & DeVault, 2015). Additionally, there were observations of the productivity, turnovers, and morale of the contractual employees. The target population was a group of employees, elements, events, and services that were assessed. The employees targeted were contract and permanent a the Kenya Forest Service. The data showed there were 5000 employees on a permanent basis and 1000 on a contract basis. Sampling was done on a total of 100 employees 50 who were permanent and the rest were contractors. The sampling method that was found suitable for use was the probability sampling which gives each participant an equal chance of participating in the survey (Daniel, 2012). The most common research method was administered through questionnaires that were classified into a variety of sections that answered the research questions and fulfilled the objectives of the study.

Data Analysis

The quantitative data will be collected using close-ended questionnaires and analyzed with Microsoft Excel and SPSS while the qualitative data was analyzed by conceptual content analysis. Content analysis is a research method that makes valid and reliable inferences from interpreting thematic texts (Neuendorf, 2016). The inferences are made by interpreting textual materials such as graphics, documents, observations, and oral communication. After analysis, qualitative data can be transformed into quantitative data.
