The paper will look at some of the considerations that are taken care of by the CRS. An organization will require policies and clearly set strategies to ensure that the goals are attained. Ethical businesses exhibit the real concerns as well as respect for employees, customers and other stakeholders. The paper will highlight how corporate social responsibility can correlate with green business to create a positive impact on human resource profession within organizations. Green Business Green business, also called sustainable business, is a business that does not have negative influence on the local or global environment, society, community or the economy. It is an enterprise that strives to attain the basic requirements of the business. In most cases, green businesses possess human rights and environmental policies. A business is said to be green if it includes ethics of sustainability in every decision of the business and provides environmentally welcoming services. It should also be sustainable compared to customary competition and be able to achieve an endurance commitment to principles of the business during the operation. A green business is any enterprise that takes part in environmentally pleasing or green actions to make sure that all products, processes, and production actively and sufficiently look into the present environmental concerns at the same time retaining a profit (Nordisk, 2007). Businesses are supposed to attain the requirements of the current world without necessarily having to compromise with the capability of future in attainment of their individual needs. Green Business involves a procedure of evaluating how to plan goods that will acquire full advantage of the present environment and how best products of the company act with the renewable resources. Sustainable business entails people, profit, and planet. A green business possessing the supply chain tries to bring balance of the people, planet, and profit through the use of sustainable distribution and sustainable development to influence business growth environment the society and environment (Anderson, 2006). Every person influences the sustainability of market and the world in several ways. Sustainable growth within an enterprise can generate value for investors, customers and the environment. A green business must attain the requirements of the customers and at the same time treat environment well Corporate Social Responsibility Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a type of corporate monitoring incorporated into a business. The World business council for sustainability development defines CSR as the commitment and contribution of the business to quality life of workers, their families and the local population and society effort to promote sustainable economic growth. CSR works to establish a positive business brand and reputation in the eyes of the public through excellent practices that produce a competitive border and at the same time contribute to the demand of other people and it dictates that the company should change from making profit to inclusion of environmental, financial, and social accountability in their central business strategies. Corporate social responsibility has gained greater momentum as a result of pressure from the media, consumers, activists, and several public agencies which demanded that businesses must contribute to the society (SHRM, 2007). Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility The CSR policy functions as a built in self controlling system whereby a business monitors itself and makes sure that it adheres to the law, ethical standards together with global norms. As a result, the business embraces accountability for the effects of its processes on the environment, employees, consumers, stakeholders, communities, and all individuals in the public sphere. However a corporate social responsibility focused enterprise will proactively endorse the needs of the public by encouraging society growth and advancement and voluntarily eliminate processes that hurt members of the entire globe, regardless of the business being legal. Basically corporate social responsibility is the intentional involvement of communal interest into decision making of the business and honor people and profit. Therefore, corporate social responsibility is a method that businesses employ to make sure that their activities are green or sustainable. CSR involves activities like Working in collaboration with the local communities, development of relationships between customers and employees, social responsibility investment and protection and sustainability of the environment (Madden, 2005). Several businesses employ corporate citizenship as their chief motive of fulfilling the environment or social goals as opposed to enterprises which try to acquire its monetary goals and at the same time minimizing negative influence on the environment or the community. Corporate social responsibility is important to businesses because it promotes the demands from workers, customers, and government agencies for businesses to be transparent about their actions and that they meet and maintain satisfactory standards in their various business practices. For employers, corporate social responsibility is viewed as a significant means of advancing competitive advantage, guard and creates broad awareness and trust of employees and customers. Within the global economy, organizations have the role of facilitating demonstrating and promoting corporate social responsibility (Toyne, 2006). Long term sustainability of a business demands that enterprises must rethink about their business objectives and goals from mainly focusing on making a benefit to corporate citizenship. The human resource professional plays a major role in leading and educating their organizations the significance of corporate social responsibility and at the same time strategically implementing the other important human resource management roles that promote the goals of business of the company and the corporate citizenship goals. Many more organizations are incorporating (Wire, 2007). Human resource professionals and corporate social responsibility Human resource professionals have a critical role to participate in to assist a company acquire its corporate social responsibility objectives. The involvement of employees is a vital success aspect of corporate citizenship performance. Human resource professionals have the opportunity and tools to influence commitment of employees and their involvement in the corporate citizenship strategy of the company. High performing corporate social responsibility companies promote the value of corporate citizenship and wholly incorporate corporate citizenship in every operation, incentivizing and rewarding corporate citizenship initiatives, and decisions (Bonham, 2004). Employees are comfortable when working in corporate citizenship organizations with alignment of their values and thus they incorporate corporate citizenship into the workers brand which helps in recruitment, training, and retention of employees especially in the tough labor market. Corporate social responsibility is employed to the functions of the human resource manager and this result to a pathway or roadmap for human resource personnel to flow so that they are able to contribute to the accomplishment of the sustainability and business aspirations of the organization leading to improvement of environmental and social conditions globally and locally (Skinner, 2002). The human resource manager is supposed to take the corporate citizenship issue into consideration because companies are required to increasingly be accountable of the influence of their practices to the society, The accountability of the corporate citizenship depends on deliverance but not on rhetoric. The human resource manager contributes to several of the major processes and systems in an organization such as training, recruitment, and communication on which successful delivery depends on the ethics of the organization. The human resource manager possesses relevant skills and knowledge in relation to the culture change and running of the organization. Managing risk and trust raises essential issues on how people are supposed to be managed and monitored. Workers are chief stakeholders in the corporate social responsibility. All these issues display that the human resource manager must be keen in the running of the organization and make sure that all the needs of the employees, the environment and the public are achieved without any interference (HR Zone, 2007). If workers are not involved, corporate social responsibility turns out to be a subject in the public relations. Therefore the accountability of a company will be damaged when it emerges that it is not working within the set ethics. Human resource management in promoting corporate social responsibility Human resource managers are in a better position to play an important role in assisting their companies to achieve their goals and objectives of becoming a environmentally and socially accountable firm which minimizes negativity and promotes its positive influences environment and society. Human resource professionals within companies that view effective corporate social responsibility as the major propeller to their financial performance may be influential in recognizing this objective. Indeed the mandate of the human resource manager to implement and communicate policies, ideas and behavioral and cultural change in companies makes it vital to fulfilling the objective s of companies of incorporating corporate social responsibility in all the undertakings of the company. The human resource manager may facilitate the advancement of systems and processes but engagement of employees is finally a shared responsibility. The more the human resource personnel may understand their influence with regard to corporate social responsibility, the greater they have the ability to implement the insights to their business associates towards the company’s objectives in incorporating corporate citizenship all over their business model and operations. As the human resource influences several of the major business systems and systems reinforcing successful delivery, it is well placed to encourage a corporate citizenship ethics and acquire an excellent performing corporate citizenship culture. The human resource management can play a vital task so that corporate citizenship can turn out to become guidance on how things should be done within an organization. Human resource is the main organizational associate that makes sure that what the organization say in public matches with how employees are treated within the company. Human resource is in the desirable situation of being capable to offer framework and tools for the managerial team and chief executive officer to entrench corporate social responsibility culture and ethic into the strategic framework and band of the company. The function of the human resource is the only function that has great impact across the whole enterprise for the rest of the lifecycle of the workers who work within the company and thus it has significant impact if handled in the right manner. How change in social corporate responsibility will influence the human resource profession Policy development The human resource manager is supposed to be in a position to drive development of program and policy implementation in human resource fields that will directly support the new corporate citizenship values. The human resource manager will employ wellness programs as a platform of engaging workers in discussions concerning their personal sustainability and offering assistance for workers in the fields of spirituality at work, stress management, fitness and health and healthy lifestyle. Human resource managers will be mandated to use workers volunteering programs to assist in building out the workers value scheme and the employer brand while at the same time delivering the corporate citizenship goals of the organization which help in community investment and involvement in the company (Nancy, 2008). Another policy is the development of uncompensated leave plan for workers to practice personal projects that match with the values of the organization. Effective carbon reduction, wellness, and employee volunteering programs needs management aid, role modeling and regular communications which when enacted become ways of endorsing workers awareness of and commitment in the corporate citizenship policy of the organization. Human resource departments which have the role of procurement and the human resource professional will have to include their corporate citizenship engagements into their purchasing plan. Through adoption of a sustainable purchasing policy and integration of their environmental and social objectives into delivery chain management, human resource professionals will pressure the sustainability recital of their suppliers (Lockwood, 2004). The human resource manager can ask recruiters, benefit providers, and several suppliers in the human resource department to illustrate how their actions ally with the customers corporate citizenship values. The human resource manager can request for proposals which then incorporate questions and needs for a particular degree of sustainability or corporate citizenship performance on the side of vendors and this can cascade corporate citizenship into the delivery chain as a further illustration of the way the organization human resource management and corporate citizenship are working according to the requirements (Strandberg, 2004). Employee engagement and participation Employees are the key stake holders for promotion of corporate citizenship program or strategy. The first vital step that the human resource professional will have consider is the vision, values , mission and strategy development in order to understand the main priorities, perspectives and concerns all every employee. If employees are engaged and consulted in developing a new approaches and programs there is likelihood that the conditions will be quickly implemented. The employees who are engaged and feel that their crucial work requirements are being achieved are motivated to work in ways that assist the company to achieve its goals. In order to acquire the crucial employee awareness and education, the human resource manager must actively engage in awareness raising initiatives and events like contests (Grant, 2008). There will be a need for the human resource to establish initiatives and programs that will support workers and their families in learning about and acting on their environmental and social concerns at home, work, and their society. Engagement of employees helps them to align their work experience with the value of their families and community and therefore they increasingly become involved, inspired, and loyal workers. Inclusion of employees in decision leads to recruitment and retention of employees who are able to come up with new corporate social responsibility values (Toyne, 2006) Conclusion It can be concluded that corporate social responsibility act as an important tool in Green Business since it helps organizations to practice their businesses in an ethical way. Corporate social responsibility is beneficial because it helps an organization to attract and retain employees who are able to work according to the set rules without interfering with the environment, the globe, and the people around it. Human resource professional takes the lead or come into partnership with other managers to work and incorporate corporate citizenship objectives into the way business is conducted. This step will help the human resource professionals to understand their position in sustainability and corporate citizenship and how they can promote atmosphere that embeds corporate social responsibility.
