Task 1 a. BEST Pearls would require more employees to become the part of their human resource team. This is on the backdrop that BEST Pearls who started their business and has manufacturing units only in Adelaide has taken an expansion option and established a new producing unit in NSW. This would thereby highlight the need of having people who are technologically sound and would thereby make BEST Pearls to hire more employees in the team. BEST Pearls has to look towards the services of both their human resource department and other agencies which are external to their business and supplies employees for job. To make it more clearer different employment agencies along with the in house talent who are capable of delivering superior performance at the top most level has to be considered (Hiring. 2013). This would thereby help to hire the correct manpower and will improve the overall effectiveness in the quality of service. b. Position Description Job Title: Warehouse Manager Business Unit/Department: BEST Pearls Warehouse Division Position reports to: Purchase Manager Job Purpose Summary: Providing materials, equipments and supplies by receiving, warehousing and distributing the same to the concerned departments and person; supervising the employees working under the warehouse division Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: The key responsibilities includes Processing Orders Contacting with customers and other departments so that proper orders can be dispatched Training, appraising and supervising the employees Maintaining the statistical data regarding inventories and ensuring financial records are properly maintained Developing budgets Planning the future requirements of the warehouse department Ensuring proper stock control measures Complying with the healthy and safety requirements Ensure delivery according to the deadline Receiving and managing the inventories Notifying the stock level and having proper understanding of the IT needs and requirements Ensure regular physical check of inventories and reconciling the same with the data storage system Maintain the different needs and requirements of the warehouse by ensuring proper training Scope of the Position: The scope of the position is related to the warehouse where the person will undergo the training requirement for stock management and developing strategies through which operational gains are achieved Position Vacancy Date: 11th November 2013 Duration of Probation applicable to this position: 6 months c. BEST Pearls to ensure maximum effectiveness in the recruitment and selection process has to hire the services of different specialist like human resource manager capable of understanding the body language along with different specialist in the field of marketing, operations, system management, finance and so on. The overall objective should be such that the prospective candidate is interviewed on different parameters and based on the overall result the candidate is selected. BEST Pearls can also look to take help of external agencies as it will help them to provide the required framework through which better opportunities to select the correct candidate can be determined as those people have the required experience and knowledge which will facilitate in the selection of the correct candidate. e. This has to be matched by the fact that the process should be simple and should be aimed at being clear. It is important that the management and the other departments along with the candidates think on the same prospective line which will require that the process of communication be clear and simple. The process has to be ensured at the time when the person is to be selected and should be notified on a consistent basis.
