Both the national and the federal government are involved to hire the contractors and subcontractors who are to take charge of this construction processes. Money is released to the entrepreneurs who are now in charge and pay their employee wages and salaries only after the completion of daily tasks. The US government spends lots of money to see success in these constructions. With daily improvement of technology, measures by the government are already in place to see them in place (Speight & Foote, 2011). How different ethical decisions are evaluated For contractors and suppliers to deliver what would otherwise be termed as considerate constructions educating and housing projects are to be fostered to identify areas of improvement and design methodology. Various variables have influenced both the ethical beliefs and the decision-making in the construction industry especially to the new contractors and engineers to the market. These variables can be further divided into individual based decision maker and those considered situational in nature. Individual-based ethical decisions include nationality, religion, sex, age, education, personality, and employment. Those based on the situation of life include codes of conduct, rewards, and sanctions, ethical conflicts, organization effects, industry and business competitiveness, referent groups (Beder, 1998). `The moral decisions relate to an individual are sex of the individual. Most occupations in this industry are considered to be energy requiring hence do not favor the feminine gender. Finding explains that no matter how learned or experienced the constructor may be, she will always have hesitative approach when it comes in decision-making. They may decide on whether or not to partake a given task in the industry example road construction where labor is needed in plenty. Given the chance she can prove the best and give a good outcome, but to the general public such jobs that require labor are however considered to be for men (Beder, 1998). Nationality of an individual also affects the ethical decisions that a new contractor will take in the market. Finding reveals that one employed in their country will perform tasks efficiently with confidence unlike those who go are employed in other countries. It happens because the level of trust is another issue of its own. This could also be stimulated, by the way, one will interact with the new environment, and how they relate to their colleagues in the workplace despite of its new atmosphere. In addition, different countries have different ways and techniques on how to approach a particular construction. Therefore, before the new contractor indulges in any work he/she is to familiarize with the methodology of the new place (Beder, 1998). Education is another decision under the ethical framework that explains that level of education of an individual will determine the decision that he/she is to make concerning the job construction he is taking. Those with higher education background are given the better hand to come up with decisions while less educated are regarded as the juniors who are to take the advices. Most decisions are given pertain the modern ways of construction and appropriate measures to be taken while undertaking development. Another factor would be age of an individual. The aged are considered experienced and therefore to matters that pertain decision-making. These individuals do most of the decisions. On the negative part of it, contractors who are aged are said to be inappropriate for the engineering work that require mostly labor to perform them. This was from a report that most clients, private investors, and government construction jobs do not employ the elderly to this field of work as they consider them weak (Speight & Foote, 2011). Personality of an individual would determine their decision-making. This explains the uniqueness and interestingness of a contractor may attract clients and employers to employ them. One’s prominence is a key factor that will determine working in a given place. Those with quality attribute that include; behavior, mental and emotional fitness towards a certain job in the industry is considered by employers. The second category that majorly focuses on the competitiveness of the industry and business explains that the decision of an individual will highly be focused on the industry that is highly ranked and seek to get employment there. From this, it is now evident that the decision is based on the situation of nature (Beder, 1998). Industries that perform well in the market and are more competitive and are likely to attract most employees. This may be a bit challenging to the new contractors in the market because chances of them getting employment are very little as test and school of experience are required for the recruitment. Also, competitive industries are well paying, and this will lead to ethical decision making by individuals who are new to the market of construction (Speight & Foote, 2011). Code of conduct is another issue that may lead to having an ethical framework while deciding which company to join and work with. Businesses that violate the rights of engineers and do not observe the moral code of conduct will no attract the employees as no one would want to be harassed in the workplace (Beder, 1998). Rewards and sanctions are other ethical decisions that may drive one to a company or industry. Credits will motivate the employ to work harder. Everybody will want to work in a motivating environment, and hence it is the duty of every industry to provide employees with the necessary motivation (Beder, 1998). Codes of ethics Having understood the legislative, regulatory, and philosophical context in which the construction is taking place and always be updated on relevant guidelines and regulations. Always advocate towards quality development to the public and your colleagues. Readily share knowledge, mentoring juniors and moral support to the peers as well as educating and training builder/ contractors. Portray loyalty in accordance with the principles of this code to maintain the public image of the construction industry. Act reasonably and impartial in all aspects of seeking administering and reporting on a development project. Fully employ sufficient skills to allow satisfactory progress of the contract. Always adhere to safe working conditions and avoid carelessness. Ensure that workmanship shall comply with all requirements of the construction policy (Beder, 1998). Recommendation I would hereby recommend the reward and sanction decision based on the situation of nature. This is because through motivation employees and another practitioner who are yet to join the market develop a proper attitude and mentality towards the industry as a whole. On the individual based ethical decision, I would recommend a sex not to be considered a hinder to this occupation.
