The paper “How Non-Managerial Employees Are Motivated in Supermarket Stores in Manchester, United Kingdom” is an intriguing example of a human resources case study. In a business and any other organization, both positions, managerial and non-managerial are of great significance for the successful running and achievement of the organization or business goals. Managers are however the decision-makers and delegators. They are responsible for setting the organizational or business goals and objectives that the entire organization is supposed to achieve in the process of its operation.

Non-managerial staff in the business will always take the orders that the managers make in the form of decisions.Research shows that for managers to make sure that the reinforcement of their decisions and will are at work and in a successful way, it is important to consider non-managerial morale (Ilea 2008). General staff morale is an important tool for the quick achievement of the business objectives and aims. However, it is very difficult to measure staff morale as compared to the measure of sales margins.

Unsatisfied non-managerial employees or staff members are very unproductive and so just as sales and stock; employees need much attention. Their mental wellbeing and happiness is a very crucial factor in business.Employee satisfaction survey details that out of all employees, only 19 percent are happy and content with their jobs (Ilea 2008). An unhappy two-thirds reported that they are not happy with their employment. This has to mean that a great percentage of organizations and business firms are not fully exploring and exploiting the full potential that lies within employees’ morale.

Looking at the economic atmosphere that appears to be working towards de-motivation in the workforce, Ilea (2008) details that most of the managers think that employee morale is all about spending money. It is important to realize that the motivation of employees can take many forms that do not cost money. However, if it costs money, it is what will bring a lot more in the near future of the business. It is, therefore, still under managers’ control to find a variety of ways that suitably work for them to create a productive workplace that is satisfactory to both the staff members and them as well.
