Academic Strategy In relation to the goals I had previously set in the preceding class, some of the goals that I hope to achieve are influenced by a set of internal and external factors that limit or enhance my prospects of achieving my objective. In reference to the external factors which are beyond my control, I will try to harmonize the available resources irrespective of the short comings and ensure that I achieve a GPA of 3.5 by the graduation date. I plan to read for a total of 4 hours a day and a total of 24 hours in a week which will necessitate me to cut down on my leisure hours to a considerable level that can enable me to handle the study time and get enough relaxing hours to replenish my energy.

In order to achieve my set objectives, there are a variety of external factors that I must consider before embarking on my academic strategy to ensure that all the components emanating from the external factors work to my advantage. One of the external factors under review is the technological changes. Technological changes have varying effects on the life of a student in a class set up. Among the changes experienced include the change in student and teacher roles to an extent that the involved student unlike in prior scenarios where he or she played a passive role, they tend to take an active role in classUniversity Alliance (2014).

As a result, technological changes which alter the delivery and access to information in finance shall ensure that I comprehend most concepts that I would have foregone if technology was not a viable option of use. Secondly, in relation to my internship project, technology shall aid my efforts in acquiring positions in J P Morgan and Goldman Sachs since online application is the most viable alternative. Technology aids my learning process by ensuring that I have a continuous access to learning material which acts as a catalyst to improving my overall GPA during graduation.

Another external factor that influences the achievement of my priory set goals is government policies. Clark (2010) illustrates that some government policies encourage collaboration between different universities on an academic basis. In the event that set of policies that encourage collaboration are put in place, the set conditions shall provide a platform for increased exposure to other academic systems, which shall broaden my perception and deduction skills in relation to Finance. The factor offers a platform that encourages increased interaction between people with same interests which has a positive influence on individual skills as finance major.

Secondly, government policies that affect the admission criteria in universities increase the total number of students in an institution, which affects the access to basic amenities and strains the university resources which might be few in comparison to the total number. It is trivial that all natural forces are beyond human control, and as a result, there are more negative aspects that result from the occurrence of such events. Some of the natural forces result from harsh weather conditions that may affect the connection to electricity and internet which are vital components in a learning process Hughes (2008).

Other risks caused by natural forces result to decreased access to amenities and other supporting components that are crucial to human existence. The lack of important amenities also affects individual motivation and as a result, the above changes may cause a deviation from the set goals. Diseases and other hazards that alter human performance can also be classified as natural forces and as a result, their occurrence alters one’s concentration which may affect the achievement of set goals. In relation to my case, unfavorable natural forces may affect the total time I dedicate to my study time and hence I may not be able to handle the demands set by my finance course work.

Another external factor relates to demographic forces which generally alter the total number of people in a given square mile. There have been a few changes in universities marked by the return of adult learners into the institutions, changes in the racial and ethnic composition and an increase in women in the above institutions Nasseh (2000). As a result, an exposure to different people irrespective of their individual characteristics will affect my view on different scenario in my major. It is trivial that most institutions have different approaches to financial models and as a result, my exposure to different people will facilitate my understanding of different systems and equip me more in comparison to an institution that discriminates students on the basis of their ethnic and racial backgrounds.

The exposure may also increase my prospects of joining my intended organizations since diversity is a crucial aspect in the job market and therefore I should appear to be more equipped than other students in the finance discipline. Other factors such as social and cultural forces have the same effect as demographic forces in relation to the overall effect of such changes. Institutions that encourage the admission of students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds improve the understanding of students and give a new perspective to the learning process Inwood (2013).

In my case, a change in the compositions of students that I interact with from different finance disciplines ensures that I have an extensive access to varying information which broadens my understanding and approach to the field. Other changes that occur from the inception of a diverse population with different social and cultural background relate to competition which improves one’s approach and consistency in learningVerhoeff (1997). Therefore, competition in my discipline will increase my individual performance which will act as a motivation geared towards achieving the set GPA.

On an individual basis, there are factors that are within my control and in order to achieve the set goals I ought to change my prioritization process and incorporate the set factors to work for my satisfaction. Therefore, for individual excellence to be achieved some individual aspects must be catered for. As a result, I shall ensure that I have the necessary access to financial resources to ensure that I participate or have access to the required resources so that I keep up with the changing trends.

An efficient financial resource ensures that I access the recommended technology resources which may play a big role towards improving my individual performance. Additionally, access to financial resources ensures that I have the capacity to venture into events that broaden my understanding in finance. As indicated above, a good financial support system ensures that one keeps up with the necessary technological requirements in my major. Therefore, with access to proper technology both provided by the school and on an individual basis, it is highly likely that my overall performance will be improved and I shall be able to keep up with the current trends.

Secondly, technological advancement ensure that I am conversant with the prevailing market inclinations, which have an overall effect on my prospects of getting access to my desired internship organizations of choice. A positive administration has a positive influence on the conduct of students. Consequently, on an individual basis I shall ensure that I am conversant with the expectation of every institution, and I uphold the set rules and regulations to safe guard my position in the institution.

I shall therefore ensure that I exhaustively use all the resources provided by the school including the literature resources and technological resources that are in line with the set standards of my finance discipline. In general, I shall consider all organizational resources and ensure that I maximize their use for better understanding and comprehension of the desired goals. Physical resources which include libraries, classrooms and boarding premises should be all utilized to enhance individual excellence.

As a result, I will ensure that I frequent the library and use a maximum of 6 hours every week to review literature that is in line with my finance major. Additionally I shall ensure that I am keen in all lectures, and I maintain a disciplined approach that involves good classroom etiquette which shall have a positive influence on my individual performance. In conclusion, it is advisable that I have to keep my individual skills and abilities in check. Therefore, for better performance, I shall ensure that I understand my strengths and work more on my weaknesses by creating extra reading hours and seeking the help of my classmates through group work and interactive sessions.

I shall ensure that I enhance my personal skills through conducting extensive research and exposing myself to platforms that engage my personal understanding of finance. Work Cited Clark. B.
