Identifying Mentors It is of uttermost importance for a person to identify a figure with the ability, dedication and time to offer the necessary lead. This could make a great difference in straightening the route to reaching career aspirations, effectively and faster. Set your eyes to observe the seniors at your daily work ground or on your desired persons, they could be executives, artists or any other person may it be even a president. Most professionals and presidents tend to restrict their search for mentors to their immediate environment. However, it is important to note that mentors can be drawn from any field, an I.T personnel could be mentored by a human resource executive (Rita. 2008, p. 99).
Obtaining Patronage
Acquiring a mentor is one thing while obtaining their patronage and making the best out of this relationship is all that matters. All mentors must be approached with confidence and trustworthiness whilst maintaining transparency and openness between the two subjects. A rapport development is all that is required. Both parties must never be hesitant to discuss issues or concerns and eventually accept all feedback offered constructively. The individual in need of the mentor must at all times identify their strengths or weaknesses to ensure proper focus in the fields that require mentorship to be developed or improved. Patronage is established where the mentor is approached to introduce contact or references when and as required (Don, 2006, p.131).
Enhancing Skills to Manage Conflicts
Conflicts can bring a business to its knees and must be handled in the right way. Managing conflicts requires one to first identify the main sources of risk, place measures to escape them and where they cannot be avoided, conflict resolution techniques local to the business must be implemented (Chip & Marshall, 2013, p.200).

How We Got Lincoln

...was the reaction that Abraham Lincoln got to his speech that he delivered in Copper Union in 1860, which attracted a lot of Northeastern Republicans, who were already seeking an alternative to Senator Seward. This paper tends to discuss and analyze, “How we got Lincoln”, by focusing on the national republican convention held in Chicago in1860. Abraham Lincoln became a nominee for presidency in the convention. The writer states that much was said against Senator Seward, who was the focus of attention on the May 17, 1860 Chicago national republican convention, something that went in support of Abraham Lincoln. Delegates from 24 states,...

How Do We Know What We Think We Know

Most of us get our daily news from a variety of sources. At one time, these sources were limited to perhaps one of three nightly news programs and/or one of a few available newspapers. Everyone essentially read or heard the same thing. Today, news is available everywhere, from serious news programs to satire comedy to internet web pages to Twitter text messages. What holds true for our general news also holds true for what we think of scientific news. New approaches, policies, and inventions are quickly reported on and then we're off to a new topic. If they've managed to capture our attention at all, we always have the option of Googling for them during the commercial breaks and are then at the mercy of the search engine spiders,...

How Does Language Define Who We Are

...How Does Language Define Who We Are Amy Tan, daughter of Chinese immigrants, born and bred in New York, begins her essay "Mother Tongue" with the following words, "I am fascinated by language in daily life" (p.257). This sentence in its simplicity sets forth a self-evident truth. It shows that there can be different versions of a single language. For instance, the language that has fascinated Tan, namely the one used in daily life, around family or the kind used in professional life, the type used when amongst friends or the type spoken by immigrants living in English-speaking countries.. If one sits back...

How We Live and Die

.... 3. Breathing to live does not end with simply inhaling air through ventilation, but its final process is cellular respiration. Only when our cells properly “breathe” can we “live.” Some things I learned in this topic that I may be able to use in future are: 1. Artificial haemoglobin is a critical innovation, because it will solve blood supply problems and help save lives in the future. Its production, however, remains on the works, which means that in the meantime, we have to still rely on blood donations as one of the ways of giving and receiving blood. 2. Knowledge of the role of the...

...in relations with men. In return, it makes their marriage harder to endure while partners are equally strong. On the contrary, older people have been together in another cultural context and got used to be more patient and tolerant. Hence, their love lasts much longer than now. Finally, the new social background makes communication within marriage more important than before. In particular, the necessity to live together makes it possible to understand one another completely when both of them are free from their previous social roles. Moreover, examples of successful marriages show that partners try their best to support, comprehend, and comfort each another in order to be the happiest people in the...

How Will We Love

...Love and marriage The documentary shows how different generations view love, marriage, sex, and commitment in different ways. While the younger people harbor a hope in romance that lead towards blissful marriages, the older people are more pragmatic with marriage. The younger people seem to equate marriage to romantic relationships (How will we love 1). In this sense, marriage is merely borne out of romantic relationships. On the other hand, the older people seem to know that marriage demands the readiness for commitment. In a huge sense, young people hold an unrealistic view of marriage that leads towards the crumbling of their unions...

How are we motivated

...Answer I am of the viewpoint that high job satisfaction depends more on extrinsic motivation (result of management) as compared to intrinsic motivation (result of ones personal outlook). The reason is that people search for those jobs these days which can fulfill their professional, as well as personal needs of life. In such circumstances, a job that can provide people with job benefits, such as, allowances, flexible job timings, and other cash and non-cash rewards becomes more valuable than a job without such facilities. These facilities and benefits not only improves the motivation and performance levels of employees but also results in a higher job satisfaction level. On the other...

Both these articles show how the human species has changed over time. We have no time to be with each other and no will to get to know each other. This is leading us to a complete societal collapse and measures need to be taken in order to prevent this social calamity. We prefer to get to know each other and have relationships ‘Online’ rather than experiencing actual relationships and friendships. We are bonded to...
